My dad's '67 FJ40 had a cool oiled-canvas tool roll with wrenches, grease gun, hammer, pliers, etc. I would love to have one, but don't see them often. Just came across a guy with one....what do you think a realistic price would be - apparently its in really good shape. Any help?

on e-bay 400-600

I know they guy who bought the one for 600 on ebay still in the plastic.

x2 on those prices since it has all the bells and whistles

but...i would just ask the guy "how much do you want for it?"

when he comes back with 100 ....jump on it :)

he'll be getting what he wants for it...and you'll be getting what you want for it...everybody's happy.

If it were me ....if he cameback with something under 100 ....i would give him 100 anyway...and thank him for the really good deal :)

JohnnyC - That's crazy - you read my mind! I actually talked to the guy last night on the phone and did exactly what you suggested. He said he'd let it go for $100....I already sent him an email telling him I'd take it. I'll post pics when I have it in hand.

Those are CRAZY prices! I guess that shows how rare they are....

No.......it shows how mad people are.......:hillbilly:

But....i understand if someone likes to keep everything 100% OEM, he will need it!

Its worth more if it has the rare bits like the complete engine adjust kit, wrench clip and grease gun, which are often missing.

Thanks for the graphic - good to see everything that should be included. My dad still has all the parts in his (even the wrench clip, adjust kit & grease gun), but the roll is starting to fall apart...if anyone has just the roll in good shape, it'd make a great Christmas gift for him - he'd love it.

On a side-note - I hauled a 1974 FJ55 home last year - a guy out in Death Valley gave it to me for free if I'd just haul it away....got it home and found the grease gun rolling around under the front seat - needless to say, I was stoked! The truck will be my springtime project...I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

I paid 100 for my grease gun. Yes you can buy a new one from Toyota but it's not the same one.

What I have been unable to find is the hammer and wooden handled screw drivers. I'd love to have those.

This is sounding like a real sickness now!
$500 tool bags, $100 grease guns...
Thanks for the picture and diagram. Good looking stuff.

CruiserStuff, I'd love to see the photos of the tools when you get em.

here is the tool kit.

Rickd might still have a few repro tool rolls

I like the little padlock for the underseat tool case. I wonder how many of those are still around with a key!

Sweet...cruiser porn! Comparing it to the graphic that IDave posted, you seem to have two pouches (one gray and one blue-green). What's in each of those? In with the grease gun are there two attachment pieces or just one? Screwdrivers still in the plastic....amazing.....

That is so cool , never seen the lock before!

The clear pouch is the trouble lamp, not technically in the roll tool kit. 2 attachments with the grease gun.

I know someone asked in the other tread about me taking pics of each tool. Maybe I'll do that tonight if the baby will sleep.
