Alright kids, its way late out here in the east coast, time to catch some zzz's and will continue tomorrow when I get more time, night.

this is turning into a proper build thread now... kudos!

ScanGauge II...

Is it normal for the trans to hit 212f to 220f on these things? I remember as soon as my 4Runner started climbing to those numbers (mostly due to weight and slightly larger tires) I installed an aux trans cooler, temps lived in the 170's after that.

I don't think your 285/65R18's are significantly large enough to require re-gearing, but taller tires will lower RPMs and cause the torque converter to work harder, which can raise the fluid temps a bit.

Pan temp on mine seems to run 196-200F when towing in 4th gear. Outdoor temp (60-90F) seems to have little effect. Highest I've seen was ~203F when pulling through some of the mountains in Wyoming over the summer. Torque converter temp runs hotter, particuarly when the TC isn't locked under load or when it's not in 4th gear. I've noticed when cruising but not towing that the pan temps run around 200F in 6th gear, maybe slightly higher a couple degrees higher depending on altitude and outdoor temp. They'll climb up to 210F+ if you're heavy on the gas pedal since the TC will generate heat the harder it works, especially if unlocked.

FWIW there's a "warmer" on the AT line which is designed to get the fluid temp up to operating temp quicker to improve mileage. I don't think it's possible to get the temp below ~195F unless you remove that. That said I'm pretty sure Toyota engineers know what they're doing and Toyota ATF WS is designed to run at the warmer 195-200F temps all day long.

Thanks @linuxgod that helps.

And correct, when I lock in manual 4/5th and even 6th the temps are under control, its that torque converter.

Then a little something got on the way..... :-\ you'd think this was taken into consideration.... some holes didn't align and others that were supposed to be threaded weren't, older 200's must be a bit different I guess?

Got this puppy but haven't installed them yet, when I first lifted (I mentioned before) it was sitting too high for my taste so I ordered this to drop the diff (Drop Diff Kit from Marks4WD AUS) as I had on my previous 4Runner.... but then I lowered by using the 2720's and dropped the coilvers up front so I am not sure I need it anymore...... I guess it wouldn't hurt.

Ran the wires through the windshield channels one side for lightbar and the other side for rear lights, grounded the rack itself to a bolt on the rear hatch.

Time for a quick plug, I have to give a shout to my buddy Steven Landy (Atlanta Mobile Lube) for doing these installs with me, his attention to detail on anything he does whether is mechanical or electrical is beyond anal ... lol. I've worked with him on cars for a couple years and I can tell you folks here in ATLANTA, I will not take my car anywhere else, for anything. (all these installs both in my 4Runners and now my LC have been done there).

A little something I did on the rear hatch :)

Lord knows its needed on the LC (not sure why Toyota didn't think about this)

Yeah I know I need a prettier switch but that's what I had to work with at the time.

Ran it through the grummet on the hatch, down on driver side panel. Also I did run power through the driver side on the door still (straight from the batt - fused) to run my ARB Fridge. So I tapped into that same power line for this light.

This castrol super clean stuff is AWESOME for engine bay cleaning (65% water 35% super clean mix on a spray bottle.... rinse with water before and after)

No wiping or anything, just rinse cold (or at least not super hot) engine bay, then spray this stuff all around and give it a few seconds (20 maybe) then rinse it off...... watch the grime and oil disappear.... might take a couple applications.

Leave only for a few seconds (under a minute).

Looking good. So how tall is the LC now? It's still going in the garage with that Gobi?

Thanks @AFdude

My garage is 8ft tall ..... but the effective height considering the ledge and door overhang is 7ft tall...... and that leaves barely half inch between the rack and the garage door edge.

Looks gorgeous

Nice Q7, and sitting on roof shot.

Why not remove the V8 badge on the rear, and clean up the rear look?

Thanks @ryanCA, funny thing is I've been thinking about that exact thing, one day I'll remember and get to it :))

Good eye ....... LOL

Here you go brother "Super Clean"

You can find it at Walmart or an Automotive store.

Remember:

No wiping or anything (unless yours is that bad), just rinse cold (or at least not super hot) engine bay, then spray this stuff all around and give it a few seconds (20 maybe) then rinse it off...... watch the grime and oil disappear.... might take a couple applications.

Damn, you move fast. She looks fantastic, well done. I love that rear hatch light too. I Would love to do something like that but I am a mechanical tard.
