^^^^I would say since you just wheel the rig and trailer it mixing up the bearings and races will be ok. Def not ideal for a street drivin rig as they won't last as many miles. The bearings wear into/with the races as time goes on. Sometimes slapping in new bearings in old races will result in not being able to preload the bearing correctly. You can usually see if a race has out lived its lifetime by a wear groove from the bearing.

agreed, just get new ones.

Really you are going through all this. Why not just get new bearings?
Because 1. I'm cheap 2. It is not my DD and 3. the way I wheel it will probably break again.

The bearings and races for the 80 are def. not cheap from Mr. T. Aftermarket are resonable but still not cheap.

Look at it this way reuse the old and it could break sooner rather than later especially if you mix up the bearings and racers

Bent spindle??

Well I ended up using everything from my original hub except the seal. When I put new/used one on the spindle and tighten everything down it seizes up fast. :bang: When I slide it on with just the inner bearing I noticed the spindle is not centered in the hub. There is more of a gap on one side. I examine the hub well and the races seem to be pressed all the way down. I can't figure what is going wrong. I'm at a loss. Could the spindle be bent? :meh:

Put spindle on flat bench and use a digital angle gauge to check. Zero out gauge on bench while gauge is on flat part on spindle. Then hold straight edge inside spindle shaft. Put on gauge. Should read 90* give or take a few. Should be able to tell this way.

Also since I had everything apart I took the opportunity to ditch the puny and I mean puny 8mm studs and replace them with beefy and I mean beefy 1 ton 7/16 fine cap screws. If these break then I'm going 14 bolt! Ha!

Did you drill and tap larger holes?

What did you use? (Hardware and Taps?). Did you do them on truck or with drill press?
Looks beefy. I remember reading about this mod.

You probably did. Here is the write up here:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/full-floater-hub-stud-upgrade-write-up.394267/
I didn't use a drill press and I took the hubs off the truck. I went from 5/16 drill to 25/64 drill instead of the write up saying 3/8 drill. My tap /drill chart called for 25/64 as the drill size for a 7/16-20 tap. The axle were real hard to drill. Had to use a few cobalt drill bits. Drilling the axles by hand was tough. A drill press would be better.
