I got it from one of my buddies, had it on his buggy before he went full hydro, he drilled and ported it, said it wasnt too hard.

its not hard at all, just nerve racking. i drilled and tapped the box on my buggy a couple months ago. should have it all hooked up by next week hopefully. there is a great write-up on pirate about drilling/taping the box...but i'll be damned if i can find it currently.
couple of taps, and a good drill and drill bit and your pretty much ready to rock.

Got the motor up to temp this weekend, got the power steering box installed, power steering lines hooked up, I am almost ready to go,,,,

Been working till midnight every night to get this build completed by Thursday, I got the steering box installed, custom made the drag link with 1 ton tie rods, steering joint & shaft came in from Borgenson and installed (easiest part of the whole build), skid plate installed, dropped it off this morning to get the exhaust done, tonight & tomorrow night, button things up, check EVERYTHING, and then sleep.

Went through some stuff last night, drove it around the block, almost too quiet, I like the open header sound!!!! Going to take some time getting used to the auto, and need to find a better shifter, I do not like the B&M. Install the beadlocks next.

Open headers get annoying after 10 minutes. Unless u re old and cant hear:moon:

My shop isn't big, how did I lose a knuckle?:bang:

20 minutes later I find it.
Re-tack things, pinion angle is set, knuckles are at 5 degrees.
Hi-steer arms are on. Things look pretty good, no major rubbing when
things articulate.
Now to take it all back apart and weld it up.

Nice job Lane, Your going to love it when it's done.

Wheeled the truck this weekend, a couple small electrical issues, and she does seem to run a bit hot, half way through the day had it to almost 230 degrees, think I need a small electric push fan in the front and a 160 degree thermostat. Other than that I love the V8, It's going to take some time to get used to the auto, definitely need to modify the shifter, it is real sketchy when your in a tippy situation and you are fighting to get in reverse.

Was thinking that with the addition of an electric push fan would do it.

How much horses you figure?

Just pull the thermostat. And run more water than anti freeze.

Had a unexpected wrench today on my power steering. Last min. fix as I am leaving tomorrow for CMCC event in PENN. My paperclip cooler sprung a heavy leak. I stopped at the bone yard, walked around and ended up with a trans cooler off a late 90's suburban. I'm good friends with the owner so I tend to get most parts for free so it was a good budget project. Removed all the old stuff and installed. It worked out well. I can tell it held more fluid overall also. I got the cooler positioned so the engine fan will pull air through it. Unfortunatly I had no more of the shielded hose clamps so I doubled up with some cheapeeze until I get home from the event this weekend.
