Started tearing apart my 80 after CMCC. Discovered a broken axle shaft. Which explains why I proceeded to shear off all the hub studs and dowels on the opposite side. Still got to pull the third and check that out.

That would be great. What I need as far as I know now is a FF hub, both right and left axle shafts. But should I just go with chromo shafts?

Ouch!

9"

Pulled the third. And saw this. Does this look bad? Is this junk?

Looks expensive

Now you have to loose some weight of that 80.

ouch... why is there a flat head wood screw in there??

Yeah that is a good question.

Prob a machine screw to replace one of those allens. If it were me I think I would take it to a rep. diff setup shop for inspection (Rick) and if all good replace the air line, clean the diff out really well, spray/clean out axle housing, repack wheel bearings, get some new axles, 1 hub, set of hub studs/cone washers/lock washers, hub gaskets, run some cheap diff oil for 100 miles and then replace. Wheel it. See what happens.

You can always replace the arb with a spool

That's what I intend to do. Thanks.

True but I like the ARB.

ARB sent the wrong friggin part! So I immediately got on the horn and told them they sent the wrong part. They were very helpful finding the correct part. They are sending me the correct part this time. They told me to keep the wrong one and they will just take a loss on it.

Also Rick dropped off the hub and axles and want to know if I should pop out the races in the new used hub and reuse all my old bearings and races from my original trashed hub. Or is it ok to mix bearings and races?
