To Snorkel or not to Snorkel

No, it is not downtrodden, I just give my wife an EQUAL voice in decisions that affect a high cost piece of equipment. IF I can convince her on a mod, and a lot of the times I can, she buys in whole heartedly. SHE is the one that purchased both the lift and sliders on my 100. I have a hard time convincing her on the snorkle because I have a hard time convincing me on the technical merits compared to the cost and her not liking the looks.

I had no problem convincing her to change the wheels on the LX because of the sidewall issue when offroad. SHE is asking me WHEN are we buying new tires, NOT if.

I do understand... :) It's sort of like convincing her it's OK to wear hiking boots to a wedding.

When the Cruiser is your daily driver...it's like wearing hiking boots to everything. Some wives love that, but I'd wager many wouldn't.

I have seen snorkels that are the same color as the body paint. Maybe that would be a viable option?

Not for the LX. Maybe on the 100, since it is not either of our DD. I am still trying to get past the fact that I never wade that deep into water, or drive behind someone on dusty roads enough to warrant the big hole in the fender.

Take her on a hike in her high heel shoes.

When she tells you she doesn't have the right SHOES for DIRT?

BOOM. Beefy tire logic starts to sink in.

-I credit wives for our use of the term... "shoes" for "tires..." :)

Smart, I'll try that.
I still did it, same with all my Car decisions, my money my toys. But she reminds me of her preferences :D

Going back to the snorkel, any issues with wind noise?

Don't think you should expect any noise. Didn't have any at all on the 100.

No wind noise with my snorkel on my 2011.
