So far I'm pretty happy with mine, powder coating is nice, welds look decent. Wish they had fairlead holes drilled in the support bracket.

Chuy, Did they ship installation instructions with yours? Not a big deal but it would have been nice.

Yes I have a little booklet that came with it and tells about the various winches the bumper supports and how to mount them. I attached the file in PDF format. I parked the cruiser for a quick outdoor picture while I met up with my cousins riding dirt bikes this weekend.

after seeing this I'm having a hard time deciding between this and an ARB

Thanks! I didn't receive these at all. The only instructions were the ones for the directional signals. Also didn't get the "machine screws" for mounting the plate.

Final thoughts

OK, installed mine over last weekend and here are my photos and thoughts

Bumper was packaged pretty well. Yes I was suprised to see "made in China" on it. Overall quality is ok with 2 issues I'll cover at the end. Two more shots of the back of the bumper. Funny how the flash shows all the dust.

Here are some more photos...The offset winch openings were a bit odd but I understand why I guess even though I never noticed it on an ARB. Overall I like the shape of the bumper. The AC dryer plate is worthless on a 91-92 except for holding  while working. I'll eventually take it off, probably after a few dings and scratches. The bumper attaches with the 4 OEM bolts on the side plus one new bolt. 2 new bolts on the top, one 6" bolt running from to to bottom, 1 new bolt from the bottom and the 2 tow hook bolts. It's on there.

Here are my issues. First and biggest, the plate above the fairlead is uneven by about 1/2", yea it's being anal, but it is a $1000 bumper. It's also not drilled for vertical bolt support for the fairlead. Second, the bumper had 2 paint issues on the vertical support, nothing big but once again a $1000 bumper. And last, I'm not a fan of the bolt on wings...maybe not the wings but the cheap piece of plastic they're trying to pass as a "gasket". I will be replacing these quickly with some flat rubber that will blend into the bumper a bit better.

And yes, the oil pan gasket is on the to do list as well. But as you can see the truck has been hit with some degreaser and the pressure washer getting ready for axle and brake work.

Looks good, kinda surprised they put the stressbar above the fairlead, as IME/O the problem with the TJM is the bottom lip bending while winching. On my older T-17, I added a skid/tie plate to the bottom lip>to> frame, and added 2 3/8x2in plates between the frame rails, and that has addressed that problem.

WRT receiver-dryer plate, you can either remount the receiver-drier higher, or just source another Toyota application that doesn't hang down below the bumper.

Those gaskets for the end caps may look bad, but I put them on 5 years ago, and I've had no issues with them since. The reason I didn't think to replace them, is the top 'hat' of the stock gasket prevents water from getting between the gasket and the bumper/endcap.

Bummer about the offset holes being off significantly. I bolted the Badlands 12k to mine without any issues.

Why are there 2 fairlead slots? Is the winch tray a separate part and how much?

TJM calls this bumper a "multi winch bumper" and almost any winch can be used without modification. They ship multiple supports for different models. I'm no winch expert nor do I play one on TV but I'd assume the mounting locations would have to change depending on the size / layout of the winch, i.e. M8000 vs. M8274. Supposedly the ARB is limited on what will fit without mods.

91 -92 dryer is mounted up high near the top of the radiator so the plate is simply in the way.

I'd love to see a photo from above showing where a winch would go in the "hi mount" position. The one issue I had with a t15 on my Discovery II was that the winch was hard to see as you spooled in and it was a bit of a pain to release the freespool clutch. Is there a list somewhere of what winch fits where?

OP had a photo posted. Here are the install instructions. They list some of the winches but I'd assume most have similar mounting requirements.

Love this bumper!

I've just installed mine.. Also got it from Sierra here in Tempe.. I actually live 1 mile form their store.. so it was awesome to actually get the T13 for bout $900 tax included! :D
I like the ARB, but I took measurements ARB Vs TJM.. if you want to fit a really big winch.. or strange winch the TJM has a lot more space to work with is designed for high and low mount winches.. and actually states that it will fit a Thomas Winch.. Same as a Pierce PS654 or the old Dessert industries or Thor worm gear winches that are huge and long.. + indestructible.. There is no way to mount these to an ARB without major cutting and modifying the actual bumper.. :hhmm:
On the TJM you have to weld up a back support to to bolt up to the frame.. But that's just cuz they are heavy and long winches.. Also the big offset on the TJM is designed for the bug winches that have to offset the roller to fit the motor and gears on the side.. So anyhow after a lot of looking and researching it was the TJM or a custom bumper that I needed for my Thomas 9000LB Worm gear winch.. and for the price it was the best and only choice!

I am very happy with my TJM bumper no issues whatsoever. Warn XD900i mounted.

Just thought I'd add to this thread....I picked up a TJM T13 from Slee last year on free shipping and sale price and been looking for a winch since then. Really thought I'd end up with a warn xp9.5 or a M12000 but found a deal on an 8274 for $80, yes $80, tore it down and fitted it with drain and fill plugs and bought 125 feet of 3/8ths to put on it. I finally got it the winch mounted and thought I'd post a few pics, the 8274 went in without any problems, jacked it up from the bottom and used my sons and a

strap from the top bar to massage it into place, its 60lbs unloaded. I still have to install the solenoid box, rope and hawse, rope exits the bottom.

sorry, little better perspective in this one.
