After owning my cruiser for 4 yrs and lurking this board just as long, I've finally decided to spend some money and join the mud h8ing club. Been doing upgrades/repairs all along , but now the 4"HFS lift is in the mail!!!!!!!!

Now I need to decide on tires. I really want big, but my wheels are only 7x15 and new wheels are nowhere close to being in the budget at the moment.

My question is ...........what is the widest and tallest tire I should put on these wheels?? I've been thinking 34x10.50 Swampers , but what I really want is some 35's and the skinniest I've seen is 12.5. Cruiser only honestly sees mild off road as I like to drive it everyday if that makes any difference. :) Wes

10.50 is a good width for the stock rim, 9.50 is probably better. I notice you say your rims are 7in wide which would be ideal for a 10.50 or even those Q78 Swampers mentioned above.

Looks like 11" is as wide as I should go then? Those 36" swamps might be just what I want though. Anybody got a shot of them on a truck?

Am I going to curse myself for driving these on the street, I see that it says "This is an extremely aggressive design that requires strict attention to air pressure when run on the highway." I'm not worried about humm or ride quality, but at the same time I dont want to drive on ice-like tires.

Might have to wait and see what I can get into the carport with after I install the lift. Happy Thanksgiving, WEs

Do a quick search, there is a whole thread in here with pics of Q78s on stock rims, good looking combo. It was a real recent thread.

FYI-

Boggers come in 35x10.50 15. That or the Q78s would be great. I don't know if the Q78s would rub during articulation, though. Might have to trim the rear wells?

I run boggers on the street- its not unbearable. If you're like me and can't afford a set of street tires and a set of offroad tires, the on road ride is a small price to pay for traction off road.

When I had the Q78's on my 40 they only rubbed on the inside of the wheelwell. They also rubbed on the front springs when turning. Otherwise they fit and looked nice.

HTH,
Nick

I spent a while searching before I posted, but when I searched Q78 I got tons of useful information!!! Guess it will be better to have some pizza cutters so I can still turn them (no ps). Can't wait till this plan comes together, WEs
