The fender to tire gap is just perfect. I thought the 70's would be much bigger.

The 70s only seem big when compared to stock. When I'm over at ACC (Toyota Truck and Land Cruiser shop in Atlanta) my 70s look like I took them off my wife's MDX.

You didn't specifically ask for 305/60/18s, but I wanted to offer another data point.

The 305’s are 32.44” tall. While I can tell there was some minor torque loss, it is insignificant and the truck still has plenty of grunt. I’ve towed right over 6000lbs with this setup and standing starts, fwy cruise, and fwy hills climbs are still rather effortless without any added gear hunting at speed. So you should have plenty of power reserved, even at the slightly taller 70s profile you’re considering.

AHC is not really an issue either. A lifted truck still requires that the tire be ‘stuffable’ into the fender under compression. It only changes where the tire sits in the suspension stroke under static load. My 305’s barely rub under full lock, but you wouldn’t have that issue for 275s.

I did...thanks for the pics. How do you like the metal tech sliders, is there enough of a "step" on them? is the step wide enough for day to day use?

I love them. They were one of the first things I bought for the rig. I bought them under the black friday special in November. There is another group buy going on now (I think).

The step is definitely wide enough for a day to day use. In fact, I end up useing them so I don't get my work clothes dirty getting in and out.

Amazing what a difference tires make. The LC on the left looks like a different model with the A/T's.

I did think about wider tires, mostly 285's. it's the daily drivability, more importantly the MPG which gave the wider tire a no vote.

what kind of MPG do you get (withouth the IS tied to the back...)?

275/70/18 on my 02 LX, I think that the 4.30 gearing is perfect for that size, I love it. Speedo is about 8% off.

I also have 275/70-18 BFG AT KO's on my 2006 LC...only had them for a few weeks now and love them. Been back and forth with right tire pressure - just about figured that out. Gas mileage is off a bit as expected. I had rear spacers installed and cranked the front torsion bars to match. Overall the tires gave my LC the look I was going for.

Manhattan, what Discount Tire do you use in town?

The Discount Tire on Peachtree... that narrows it down huh? Peachtree Ind; where Clairemont ends; next to Lowes.

The left one also doesn't have those horrible fender flares.

Sent from the future to protect John Conner.
