Tire size for FJ40

I have an '73 FJ40 with stock suspension, no lift kit. I am planning on putting some M/T 31X10.50X15 tires on it. I assume those will fit OK??? Can I go any larger with no modifications?

those will work fine. Stock or mild lifts are good with 31's. 33's Should have about 3 inches or more.
