So, we've all provided a pretty good mix of options for the OP. It sounds like manufactured parts options are pretty slim. He was asking about how to build a spindle and how to rig a latch. I'm guessing his access to Amazon and 4Wheel Parts is less than ours. I'm not a welder or fabricator. Anybody else have any ideas on how you'd rig something up without commercial solutions?
I've imported equipment into Russia many times. Transit time can be months. The cost of transportation is high. Official and unofficial "fees" are prohibitive. It can be done. Usually having a legitimate, and lucrative, business to ship to is helpful. Shipping parts as "samples" before adding value to them and completing manufacturing in Russia is more successful than shipping a finished product. I'm not sure what it's like for private citizens to receive international shipments, but this has been my experience. Any help we can offer would be good.
