I'm going from 33s to 37s on my FJ60. I assume I should get rid of my 15" wheels. I'm curious as to what wheel size I should go to for 37's. 18"? What are the reasons to go to one size wheel or another?

Thanks for the input.

The stock Tacoma wheel is 17"x7.5". I was thinking they would be cool on an '85 FJ60. And from what I'm reading, 37x12.15x17 will go on a 7.5" rim as long as you watch the pressure.

I think a 9" rim would be better suited to the 37x12.5x17" tire. I've run these PBR radials at 8psi with no slipping on the rim.

Hi all,

Just so you know, the back spacing of the Tacoma wheel will require spacers for clearance (unless you are running full width domestic axles!)

Personally, I would use 15 or 16 inch wheels with 37s. I like side wall bulge off-road. If you were gonna run 40 inch tires, now that is a different situation.

Regards,

Alan

There are lots of options for a 37 on 15" rim. however there are more for a 17" rim.

15's are going away. If you want to take the plunge, then go 17. 18's start to limit you again.

you can't get anything over 5 or 6 ply with 15" rims. I am slowly changing all my trucks
to 16". Way more options, plus when you start to get into 17" and 18" prices skyrocket.
