OK, then a couple more questions.

In the FSM, it states to remove the radiator. From your comment about if you pull the head, drain coolant leads me to believe you do not remove the radiator-which seems impossible. Did I miss something?

Also, would it make sense to NOT lift the engine until you looks at the guides OR go ahead since it is a good idea to replace the guides with steel ones anyway.


Any of you guys live near me. Sure would be nice to have some assistance during this first run through.

you should remove the radiator. it will give you much more room to work with.
it is a lot of trouble to remove the pan, so if there is nothing broken or missing on the guides, then trouble your self.

but then again there is a good peice of mind if you do it.

i live in WA. if i was in KY, i would help you out.
