Do me a favor if you can and keep me updated. I’m actually at Toyota mile of cars way and they aren’t any help either. Telling me a month shipped from Japan. Looks like I am gonna have it shipped from Toyotapartsdeal.com it’s still pretty cheap with shipping.

If anyone knows a parts guy in San Diego or nearby that has a clue please let me know

Toyotapartsdeal is probably going to cancel your order and say they do not ship windshields. You might want to call them first and discuss your needs.

That's weird. That's a good bit more in shipping than I payed through Partsouq. Then again it was lumped in with a big order of other stuffs.
When I first sourced them they need to pay someone to make a crate yada yada yada. He was nice enough to refund my order. @deepseacruiser id say just stick with a local dealership.

Well after a few back and forth e-mails it appears they waved the crating fee and my glass is on the way! I totally understood them wanting to charge more to ensure a heavier, larger box was shipped. My issue was that they accept and process a payment only to ask for a fairly large sum of money after the fact. IT would be better if they flagged such items and required contact be made for a correct shipping quote prior to finalizing payment

DO NOT sign the freight bill until you inspect the glass. If it is broken refuse delivery, get a refund and buy it from the closest dealer.

I'll add to FULLY remove it from all packaging. I did a quick check to make sure mine wasn't broken, missed a chip under one of the foam pads. Chip turned into a crack all the way across the windshield when I went to install.

Just placed my order with Toyota of Chula Vista. If you do return the partsouq glass, I’d suggest using that dealer. Ask for Jeff the parts manager. The windshield was $400 and the weather strip was another $100. I’m not sure what the cost to install will be... regardless what it is I have a 250 deductible.

That was the problem. Apparently I had a $500 deductible which for glass seems ridiculous. I ended up getting the window for a little over 200, 60 for the wetherstripping. After install and shipping im just under $500 so it didnt make sense to do a claim.

Window shows delivered to my house now so hopefully its was shipped well (Fingers crossed)

Delivered without a signature?:hmm:

The trick is to go into your local dealer with a part number! 56111-90K08 or 56111-60230 for the windshield, and 56121-90K03 or 56121-90K01 or 56121-60120 for the gasket (Note, the exact gasket that takes the original chromey inserts is not available, you have to get an all rubber gasket

Apparently the real trick is take part numbers provided on this site with a grain of salt as I know have a truck without a removed wIndshield and the incorrect gasket.

56121-60120 IS NOT A CORRECT PART NUMBER FOR THE BJ74.

Another vote for checking the glass FULLY before accepting delivery. I ordered 3, went to the toyota store to get them and they were ALL damaged.

My sons Nanny will usually sign for packages. Glass came in great. Really glad I didnt get suckered into paying $200 additional as the "crate" was veneer plywood and a a few pieces of 1x2. Couldn't have added more than a few pounds and a few inches to the dimensions.

Glass guy down the street reinstalled it with the old gasket which was in good shape. Figure if I have leaking issues I'll have the new one on standby.

BTW anyone in the market for a fixed windshield 70 series gasket. $50 plus the ride.

I'm happy to hear all worked out well. In view of your recent luck you may want to consider investing in a few lottery tickets:)

I am going through the same thing for the BJ73 w/FRP. Got the weather stripping (56121-90K01) from Toyota Parts Direct. Hopefully my chrome lock/molding will come out OK. I am not sure there is a strip that does not use the molding.
It appears the windshield number for mine 56111-90K07 was replaced by 56111-60230?
Can any parts gurus confirm that?
56111-60230 is readily available in my area for just under $300.

No different here In Virginia.
Nearest three dealers are idiots and thieves.

I’d order that from Toyota South Atlanta and make a trip of it and pick it up.

They have a MUD discount. Ask for Gil or Kyle. Tell them I sent you.

That is the correct part supersession.
