First off, I'm still a newbe...BUT I DID DO A SEARCH.....

How long should it take for the factory lockers to engage?

In my case, I shift to neutral...move the joystick to low...turn the lockers..then shift to drive and drive. After 50 to 200 feet the locker dash lights stop flashing one by one (in no order) and go solid.

Normal?

The dog clutches need to line up before the diffs can lock. If they are not lined up and the vehicle is traveling in a straight line it can take an awfully long time before there is enough difference in individual axle rotation speeds to get the dogs lined up. The front splines are finer and the wheels steer so that makes for a faster lock. If the dogs are lined up, the diffs will lock in a second or so. I find that the rear locks faster if you steer hard to one side or the other in order to speed up the the difference in rotational speeds.

Do a low speed circle, preferably in dirt, and they should lock up right away!

Provided nothing is wrong of course!

I have found the more I use my lockers the quicker they lock up. Keep using them, and they will lock up as Dan says in a second or two as you turn from left to right going slowly forward.
