its the input to the second t-case that fails in a dual toyota case setup, the first case (toybox) normally isn't the problem. Toybox coupled with a split case would hold up well from the abuse I have seen. Front nose cone on any cruiser case, minus split case but including orion is an area of concern. Gear selection of toybox is clutch.

fryman runs dual mini cases. he used to run toybox with 4 70 and a 40 case after the third or fouth 40case he shatered he switched to dual minis but his driveshaft angle was steep last time i sall it, he said he was going to do something to fix the problem. but the only time he broke the split case, so i was told ,was in high range with a v-8 and 38 inch tires and welded rear and a right foot that was heavy enough to kill the biggest varmen in rabbit hash. i run toybox with 4 70 and split case locked frnt & rear with a 2f and have yet to even come close to braking a 40 case and as for the toybox good luck brakeing that.:grinpimp: marlin forever :grinpimp: orion never:ban:

Daicci,

Frydaddy was not runnign split cases he was running 40 series cases...wrong info bub.

My dual minis have held up admirably in a fairly heavy rig..

And Frydaddy was not running a split case. Lowertide is right..

Thanks guys. Thats the answer I was looking for Mace. I gotta figure out some gearing options for myself.

I'll put my split case up against any orian, I' ve never had any issuse with it, and its behind a 2:27 toybox /465/sb 350.

:shotts: :shotts: oopps bub.

sorry my point was though most people braking 40 cases have big v-8s and a heavy right foot.most people with a 2f and a toybox have no problems. plenty strong and plenty of gearing

My HEAVY wagon, split case, 4.7 toybox = EXCELLENT

Great range of ratios:
1:1
1:2.28
1:4.70
1:10.72

173:1 with 4.56s, 36-inch swampers

Get the 4.7 ToyBox.

Marlin Crawler Rocks

I've gone thru a couple cruiser cases....

dead F and an sm420

what year case the old three speed case is not as strong as the four so i am told, do not get me wrong thow thier is always somebody out there who can brake everything,:skull: wheel hop is the devil. some people just do not know when to pick a new line.:hillbilly: :hillbilly:

Both 3speed and 4speed cases with a t-case saver. I dont' get wheel hop. I have never broke any rear end parts.

Toybox all the way. I currently run a 465/Toybox/4spd case. 250+:1 ratio with 38" TSL's. I have broken many axles, pinions and birfields do to the torque but never a t-case. Your truck will be so low wheel hop won't be an issue therefore you won't break parts that way. With the 350 you could also ditch the Toy stuff and run a 465, 203/205 doubler with a Dana 60/14 bolt combo. This is what I am currently working on.

Chuck
