It is a sad and dark day for me, but I am considering parting out my 40 :crybaby:.......... mainly for two reasons, the first being I am in debt up to my eye balls because of the 40, and second I no longer have a place to keep my 40 now that I have moved out of my house in Clemson, it currently resides 2 hours away at my sisters place. Also I just can't rely justify having two landcruisers at this point in my life, especially when I use one of them rarely.

I would just sell the 40, but after rolling it last fall and trashing the body....... I think I would do better money wise to part it....

so if anyone in the club wants a killer drivetrain....... I have a rebuilt 2F, tranny, and t-case. The engine and Tranny were done by Urban landcruisers little more than a year ago and the t-case was rebuilt by Classic Cruisers about the same time. All in all in the drivetrain I have close to $4500 :o when you count in the carb. rebuild..... and the drivetrain has maybe 1500 miles on it at best.

if anyone is interested let me know, I am still mulling this idea over...... but at the moment I think it is the right thing to do

I thought you only trashed the windshield? Keep me posted if ya sell it whole.

yeah the winshield was a total loss, and the drives side is all scuffed up and dented.... I am not opposed to selling it whole at all just don't think I would get what I would be asking in the 4-5k range

JP, this has to be the last thing I ever expected you to say. I can't see you not riding around in a jacked up 40 that your thrashing to hell. If you do go this road it will be a sad day for sure. All that said dibs on your stinger.

me too......... I must have bumped my head  I need a beer :D

Hmmm, need to sell my wifes 80. where is your 40 at?

It is in North Augusta SC.......... it is hanging out in my sisters barn for a while :D. If you are serious John let me know and I will give you the run down on the cruiser and so forth

How far from Five Notch and I-20? My parents still live down there. And my husband and I just bought a cruiser and are in need of some parts. Also looking for a project cruiser so we both have one to play in.

You'll come around and see the 40 light. :D

No way you let this plan come to fruition IMO. Have a beer and go look at some Wranglers. ;)

I would have a couple of beers, perhaps a beer-pong game or two, and re-consider your idea.

If it's un-economical for you to have it now, put it away for later. Don't touch it. Just drive the 62 for a while. That bent-up sheet metal can fixed later, at your leisure and budget.

My 40 sat outside under a tarp for 5+ years before I re-built it. The rebuild took over 4 years.....

I'd say keep it. The money you make will be short-lived and gone quickly, but your memories of that truck are with you forever. Keep it. :D

BTW, haven't found any WS hinges for you.

I hear you guys for sure, it kills me to even think about selling my 40............ I might just take your advice Capt. and hide it away for a few years. I think what I will do first is start selling all the parts I have amassed and see if I can't make a little money......... just trying to relieve some finacial burden. The rents are cutting the strings this summer, so I am going to be broke for many moons

and don't worry about those hinges Capt. I am in no hurry :D

DITTOOO DIITTTOOO 100000%%%

Man JP look at my 40 it's been sittin for about 4 years also.....I have nickel and dimed the hell out of it....I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with my 40. You of anyone know what I have done with this 40...cause you're the one I call all the time about it....Your 40 is paid for and everything in it is paid for(even if it's on your CC). You have enough sitting there to make a good running cruiser. It's your dreams of what you want to do with it that keep bringing up the dollar signs. Pay off your debt....while you are paying off your debt be very "tightwad" and don't spend anymoney on the 40 but slowly reassemble it to make it road/trail worthy with what you have there. Because that rig will be very trail worthy. Then once you have your debt paid off and you are out of school with a full time job then you do your upgrades to the 40....the spring over..full roll cage...new sheet metal...new soft top..new lights...new winch...All those cost money. I promise you I have thought about sellin my 40 several times but if I did then I would feel defeated cause I never accomplished my dream with it. And hell if I'm gonna let that happen. It may take a while but this is an investment and not a 5minute roller coaster ride. Brother keep your 40 and I promise you one day it will be the beast you dreamed it to always be!

Later...Chuck

Yeah man sell off all those damn parts. You have enough parts for most of another cruiser. Then you might not have to think about getting rid of the 40. Storing it away is a good idea too if you get rid of it its just gonna cost you more later on to get another one.

hehe, I should have know I would be flamed for suggesting such a horide act :D, I start selling off parts I have and see where that gets me.............

......... chuck this wouldn't have been an issue if you hadn't had to go and get engaged :flipoff2:........... mary ellyn was already chomping at the bit
