As to be expected, my blue glowing dash was interrupted by a single orange light while on a drive last night. It was the first check engine light I have had so far, which I guess is something to be proud of. After immediately pulling over and checking for coolant leaks, I was pleasantly surprised to find nothing. Idle was good, temps , fluid levels, etc. That left one thing: oxygen sensors. I continued driving and once I was home, I retrieved a 28 code. The oxygen sensors did not get replaced during the rebuild as they were seized to the bung and were held in place with stripped nuts. Luckily I had an extra set of custom 2 inch downpipes made, a Y pipe ready to weld, a lot of 2.5 inch tubing and a muffler, and 2 brand new Denso oxygen sensors. I'm currently welding the Y pipe together and will hopefully be able to find flanges somewhere. Of all things to go wrong, I'm glad it was sometning I already had ready to put together.
I'll hopefully post more once I do some more welding.
