Haha - yes it will be wheeled..... got a week in CO planned in Sept and a few 3 days to the hill country next month.

The Gobi took about 10 weeks.... but it was worth the wait .... I did 200 miles on Sunday and it really is quiet... that may change a bit with the Light bar but I'll share that this weekend once I get that mounted up. I'm also doing rear and side lights but don't expect that'll materially create more noise.

and no color matched snorkel......

After a week at the shop I picked her up this morning and am super happy with all the new work ....pretty much sorted all the final PM and mods short of need to swap out the reartsprings for a bit lighter version until I get the sliders on and rear bumper.

a HUGE improvement in ride quality and can really enjoy the Icon's now that the front is down to 21 3/4" ......and a fresh alignemnt really helps !

They added drilled/ slotted Stoptech rotors with EBC pads and new lines and fluid really haul her down..... need to get them bedded in tonight once I get the spare parts out of the truck - but it's impressive...... they also replaced both front halfshafts with OME ( ouch) and changed all fluids and repacked the bearing and replaced seals......

For the engine I had them replace the Fuel Filter, Fuel pump ( upgraded fro URD), plugs, all new coilpacks, blueprinted injectors and hoses and belts and a ton of vac lines.... it totally seems to have cured the starting issue and the power deleivery is much more linear...

More importantly - they did the DT headers..... and at the same time did the starter and motor mounts...... a solid day they said, given the SC'er and the lack of space.... strangely the headers seem to have knocked some of the drone out but that's just an initial impression... will update.

Really looking forward to working to finalize a few details ( LED bar for the Gobi & an Spod ) and get some time on the trail over the long weekend......

Expensive as heck , but I lack the time right now to do it - but awefully nice ot have it all done....

Test fit the 42" Curved LED bar...... amazon special, but it's CREE 5 watt'ers ... and the SPod showed up..... thinking I'll mount the switches into the garage door opener area ....but might do left knee area....

Needless to say - but I will anyway .. your LC is SICK! I would have to say out of all the mods - performance, functional, and esthetics .. I think the game changer (and this sounds crazy) were the headlights! It took a truck that debuted in 98 and brought it into 2015. Nice build - love the attention to detail and your ability to change your mind - so many people order something, don't love it, but end up keeping it - not you. If doesn't gel, you try something different. Bravo.

What are you initial thoughts on the Stoptech rotors and EBC pads ? If I understand correctly the Stoptech rotors are only available in one style for our trucks unless you go for the BBK (Big Brake Kit)- but which EBC pads did you go with?

In immediate need for rear pads and rotors - any insight would be well appreciated.

Good stuff - keep it coming.

Thanks - it's an obsession that princess isn't fond of but it keeps me mostly out of trouble....agree on the headlights.... they and the tails really freshened up the look.

The Stoptech's are a solid improvement, much nicer initial bite and the EBC pads help I think.... that said I'm still coveting a set of the 355's for the front..... the rears are worth doing as they are currently the only " upgrade" available.... I got them from AutoAnything at 20% off plus free shipping - think they're doing it again now

cheers

I'm interested to see what you come up with on the sPod. I've been struggling to figure out how to mount the base unit under the hood. I mounted the switches overhead in mine. I was worried that I'd be always hitting the switches with my knee if I used the left kick panel area.

struggling to find a good spot as well...... the 80 had a logical spot near the dual batt but my Sc'er and misc take up some of the avail real estate.... off to get some metal to see if I can do a bracket for support.... will share pics once i get this figured out.

okay got it solved ..... i'm using a bit of 2 x 1/4" alum over the Slee 2nd batt "shelf" - I think it's intedned for a relay but it'll work.... and then mounting it across parralell to the battery.... not ideal but it'll work.

Also found that my test fit of my new rim and tire works all the way around..... placed the order for the new set... BFD's and 296/65/18 Duratracs. The Volks are on intergalatic backorder .....and they need spacers.

21 lbs for a wide 18 !!! - me like .. No spacer right? What's the offset on those bad boys? Any rubbing? Details please!

They are 18x9 Et 12 BFD's by FN wheels w/ no spacers.... I'm ordering a set of 5 in gunmetal metaliic. I'd say for a 295 this is as aggressive as you can get... a 285 might be even a better option but I want as wide a footprint as I can get ..... I initially tried a 325/65/18 a while ago before i did the lift but that clearly was going to cost me some bodywork......

I tested the travel front and rear and this seems to clear.

Working on little things today..... Wit's End organizer was super slick and easy to install..... and I used the nice insert as a template for cutting a a piece of stair runner carpet for the upper console..... it's thick enough it covers the screws heads.

Working on the Dorkel next...... have to get primer and paint for the YotaTeq TEq grille.... and then up next are the underhood lights and finally finishing off the Source/ Spod install....... need to get a piece of Alum bar for that.
