I tried to justify a built 40 or the 80 conversion to the 4 door 40 style chassis but ....... don't have the window of time.
Totally understand! I was in the same boat when I bought my 100, my dream rig was and still is a 4 door 40 with a diesel! But just couldn't make the time to build it. I won't lie though, I did entertain the thought of a jeep but I just couldn't do it lol, One day I will have my 4 door 40 but for now the 100 will have to do.

saw this on why Wranglers are the only modern open-top off-roaders..

Why Doesn’t The Jeep Wrangler Have Any Competitors?
I think the older ford Broncos were close as well as the older land cruisers. I'd love ford to make a bronco again. I've seen some models that are based off the F150 chassis and design and would not want that. I've seen some that were a much smaller model closer to the size of a 2 door wrangler and that would be great. I wouldn't buy a ford ever but I'd still like to see them on the road and trails.

Pics of the test fit rim - not the final color but it's the same base rim - 21 lbs for a 18 x 9 w/ 295/65/19 DT

Would you say that 305/65/18 would be doable with these exact wheels on stock LX without modifications to body/bumpers? I know you mentioned 295 was the biggest you'd go without modifications, but based on your earlier post it seems your comparing the next size up as 325/65/18. Just curious if you had tried the in-between at 305/65? Or if anyone has with this wheel for that matter!?

Ford was the original builder of the Jeep. They should set up a direct competition and recreate their own old Willis. Call it what you will but hard top , removable doors and all.
