I hope you put the sprinkler underneath for a while after that:eek:

I powerwashed the underside immediately after that. And then another 3x after including the engine bay. It was too much fun to pass up.

My old CJ7 had no rust until it spent one summer on Nantucket driving on the beaches. Despite many many hosings it still rusted out quickly in the following years. I'll drive on the beach again, but not IN the ocean.

Here are some pictures from when I bought my LC 100 and a picture of the first modification.

The Old: 1991 Jeep Cherokee XJ w/ 245,000 miles: 3.5” lift (Tomken front end, National Springs rear end), 31x10.50R15 BFG T/A KO’s, MIT Transfer Case Drop Kit, 4.10 gears, Tomken Rear Bumper w/ Full Size Tire Carrier, Custom Skid Plates, Sliders, Conferr Roof Rack w/ Hi-Lift Jack bracket. It was a great truck.

The Almost New: 2006 Land Cruiser 100 w/ 70,000 miles: Stock w/ AHC, 275x60x18 Bridgestone Dueler tires, shown with no mods yet.

First job was to get that fat rear end off the ground and more clearance under the front end. Note the LC and Jeep both have 31" tires. What was Toyota thinking with those factory bumpers?

Here is the newly installed Slee dual carrier bumper. The big spoiler had to go to fit the ladder.

The front bumper and lift are on the way!!!

Nice new mods! Also saw your post on wheeling in Anza Borrego. When are you going wheeling next time in that area? - I'd like to join you. I've been in around that area a few times and love it but not still not too familiar.

Thanks Tony. I don't normally head out there in the heat of the summer, but I may get the urge after getting my lift and bigger tires this summer. Table Mountain and the In-Ko-Pah Mountains near Jacumba won't be as hot and would be a good spot too. I will keep you posted.

BTW, I'd like to check your truck out sometime. I'm just embarking on this TLC adventure. This forum is great but seeing things in real life would be nice.

N.GA today, as well as spending sometime at the new racetrack opening in December :D , oh I can't wait to start racing again

Rescuing 2 Jeeps in 1 Fell Swoop!!!

This was from back in January, sorry for the late post but I figured some of you might enjoy this… We were heading to Cougar Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park. As we were approaching Coyote Creek, the ranger warned us no one had been through all week due to the recent rains. When we came to the 3rd crossing of Coyote Creek, the tricked out Jeep Grand Cherokee in our group went first and got stuck half way in. So the Jeep Rubicon went in for the rescue and … got stuck!

So I backed in with my Stock LC 100 with street tires to pull them both out. I handed the camera to my son to document the event. He did OK, but I need to train him in getting more of the Cruiser in the picture!!! Even still, it was a priceless moment :D. We ended up backpacking to Cougar Canyon. There are a few more pictures in my gallery if anyone wants to check them out.

Looks like a good trail. Where abouts in Ca is that?

My '99 LX 470. Mods to come as the money flows, I'll be starting with some 33's I'll most likely purchase over craigslist, and follow with WK sliders.

Meet a dozen Land Cruiser on top of Mt Lemmon (8000'). A totally packed area with everyone trying to escape the 110° temp. What 150 yards of 4WD low range will give you:) Didnt see anyone except a bunch of deer early in the AM.

Tried to go home all dirt made it a 100 miles through some new area with every type of terrain, including a few water crossings.
