We had a blast! Christmas Mtn was the highlight of the weekend, hard to believe that's in Texas. Enjoy your trip!

Waaay overloaded my luggage bars at HD today….lumber for saving our 110-year-old garage.

I need some wisdom on tire size from the forum. I’ve got 33’ tires on 17s and OME lift. I’m deciding whether to go to 34s or 35s (or stay put with 33s). I’m told that if I go 35s I’m going to need to regear, get new CV joints. Thoughts?

I've been running 35s for two years with no significant detrimental impact to CVs. I definitely would benefit from regearing the transfer case (10% overdrive) and that's in the works. I haven't seen a huge benefit from the 35s, to be honest, other than I love the way they look. Trailwise, I was doing just fine with the 33s that I ran for 10+ years before that.

I assume effort will significantly increase in terms of trimming, cutting, making room.

In terms of regearing, yeah. You’ll end up with the wrong speed and therefore I guess also with wrong mileage.
Due to added weight (and wider tire depending on what you go for) fuel consumption will likely go up.

But: driving offroad will be sweet! Bigger tires, more fun :) they’ll roll over smaller stuff better.
Like on a MTB: more or less everybody moved away from 26” to 27.5 or even 29 for added comfort in driving (on cost of agility)

Out for a rip

Great feedback. Thanks!

With your setup, 35s will surely compliment the overall look. Once you got the tires on, there are a few ways to regear, one is through the third member R&P gears, or through your t-case or lastly the most extreme (custom order but doable) - portal IFS axles.
