It snowed here last night, just a little bit. My first time driving the LX in snow.
It was very sure footed on straight line and even when changing lanes.
But the rear was happy to swing out at the slightest provocation in turns! This surprised me a bit since I have snow rated tires and and a factory LSD rear. Are all 100s this playful in the snow?

I think the LSD is what makes it 'Tail happy' - Would be interesting for another LSD LX owner to chime in

on my 98 LC on 285s I really had to try hard to get it to swing around. I feel very Safe and Stable at appropriate speed for conditions, around turns, stopping etc.

Since this is a picture thread

Not my experience. Check your ahc pressures, maybe you have suspension issues. Get some AT tires or some MS tires if you can afford a winter set.

I ripped out the AHC a couple of weeks ago. Now I am running everything stock OEM with OME 2865 springs. Alignment was done only a week ago.

The tires I have are 265/70/16 Falken Wilde Peak A/T 3W so they should be suitable for the winter use. Tires have under 5000 miles on them. It is all manageable but I was surprised how easy it was to make the rear swing. I have tried too much but it didn't feel like it would check itself if I let it slide for a bit.

My 06 530xi on General Altimax Arctic tires on the other hand was completely planted. I couldn't make skid or loose traction without doing anything stupid, even though the manual transmission certainly lends itself to these kinds of shenanigans.

Almost forgot to add a pic. Here are a couple of cheapo Amazon LED pods with worthless light output

Hello all you lovely peeps. After heavy stalking on this site in general I decided to make an account since my 3rd gen 4Runner recently transformed into a 98 LC I found on the ExPo classifieds! Got it as is with 317k and slowly making it mine. Any of you guys pass through Ouray at any time I'll be happy to show you a few hidden gems:)

Great pictures!

I have spent many of hours out on Goff’s road growing up chasing quail with my grandpa. I’ll be taking my cruiser out there in a few weeks. I’ll make sure to post some pictures.

I love the area. I really like the section of Mojave Road from Highway 95 to teh end, with the exception of whoop-dee-doo city between Cima Rd and Kelbaker Road. Bypassing this via Kelso Depot is superior

Nearly Flooded out the LC today in Osceola National Forest.. Locker helped me reverse out of it. Thank God

I used to offroad in Pensacola with a Bronco II way back when. This reminds me of a stretch we went through to get to some out of the way beaches. You could reach out and pat the water that was a couple of inches from coming in the window lol. Good times.
