A friend sent me this today about braces on short barreled rifles. What say ye?

Yes, very bad... I had 5 or 6 pistols with braces that I lost in a boating accident. Not sure what I would have done with the new ruling ☹️
Same. Lost one on a boat. Damn waves knocked it right out of my hand, even with the brace.

Would love to see pics when you get it. I went with the Shield RMSc

The EPS Carry finally came in last week. I went with green multi reticle on mine so it has the option of a dot, a circle, or a circle dot. It fits the slim Glock well! I’m excited to go out some rounds through it to see how it is.

Speaking of H&K USPs. I am looking for a USP compact 9 m m. No hurry.

You looking to complete a collection, HK fan, or just love the paddle mag release?

Just a fan. Never shot many pistols and one time a friend brought like 7 different makes and models to the gun. Shot them all multiple times and the usp was my favorite. I have had a few usp's and sold them all and should not have sold the compact 9 mm.

Without the google, I can't remember if they're still making USP's. I'd guess so, but it's been a LONG time since I've looked at HK. I have some of their stuff, just not a fan of their overall view of civvies vs armed forces. They used to look at citizens in the "you suck and we hate you" light, but made a great product. Since SIG, FNH have started eating their lunch on mil contracts they seemingly have softened quite a bit however.

Interesting. I will check out those 2 as well. I appreciate the info. I do not keep up in the gub world at all.

Sig P320 M18 with threaded barrel looks sweet. And they sell suppressors. NIce.

Or this

Ok, maybe I need to do some research. Haha.

Before the covid mess kicked off, I was looking for a 509c. I know a guy with a custom trigger job on one that is SMOOTH. Ironically, he mentioned wanting to sell it.

I haven't shot a sig m18, but from what I can see they're coming on strong overall in the civilian market over the past 7 years or so. Definitely worth renting or going with a friend to try stuff out and figure out what you like.

A LOT of people like the M&P line. I have zero exposure to Springfield stuff though.

So getting back to the pistol brace document the atf posted. Palmetto State Armory has stopped shipping their various short barreled platforms, 556 and 9mm.All of the vendors are saying they will fight this in court, but who knows how long that would take, and if it would be successful .

I bought one of their 9mm offerings (8" barrel) nov/dec 22 I Know it can only use an angled foregrip, and not a vertical foregrip.

one of the options in the document says you can register It as an SBR with the tax stamp, and they will waive the fee for the next 120 days. If i were a lemming and just did the paperwork to classify it as a short barreled rifle, what does that do for me, other than get in yet another digital file cabinet? Would I be able to legally use a vertical grip if I want to?

And since people like pics...light has been removed for now, sorting through some other options.

As I understand it... once registered as an SBR, then there aren't any restrictions. You do have to follow all the NFA rules (can't cross state lines without written permission, etc.)
I believe GOA and others are trying to get an expedited court ruling but to your point, I don't know if it will be in time.

I'm certainly going to wait to the 119th day to decide

Yeah I'm in no rush at all . I just wanna find A foregrip that my hand likes. The magpul mloc afg was too small. They didnt have the rail afg2 in stock locally. I like the fab defense 2 piece , but I've not found one locally yet to see how it feels.

I went through the process online and saved it. They want some pictures and fingerprints, that could take a lil more time. I've decided to "take the brace off" for now.

The only other thing I would add is that it is a little harder to sell a SBR than a long rifle.

Did you watch the video from the shot show that was posted? by providing rhe docs, You set yourself up to end up on a position of incriminating yourself with the very documents you need to produce to get the stamp, along with the time constraints that will never be met, it gives an implicit deny, which can lead to ATF showing up at your door...

yet another case of shoot, aim, ready.....Hell, they will probably put Alec Baldwin in charge of the public relations and information campaign

What part is the brace? I must be the only guy in here that has no desire to have an AR15.

Wow. Hell of a rabbit hole to go down before going to church, where I cling to my bible, and then home, to cling to my single barrel shotgun. I am so thankful that I only own the single barrel shotgun that is well past the 16” requirement to satisfy the definition of a long gun.

Wow, doing something just for the sake of doing something. Not only did I have a boating accident, the boat sank too.
