Really? Pretty sure this sc fan was the first to post up today.

Losing that game sucked, but all of our team goals are still attainable.

Really surprised by that couldn't believe it when I turned it on and LSU had more than 10 points. Really gashed the USC D at times.

Spurrier definitely threw Shaw under the bus after that, he's such a little bitch, spends all week talking junk about LSU and how good USC is and all their talent, then when they lose he throws players to the fire instead of stepping up like a man and saying he didn't get them prepared enough. I wouldn't take Spurrier as our coach if you guaranteed we'd win multiple National Championships with him just because of that. Dabo might not be as good of a coach, he lets his assistants do a lot more but he has never once done that, he always sits in the press conference and tells you that he and his staff didn't have the guys ready.

s.car...did not take care of buisness this weekend

next weekend...a MUST win in the swamp

Well, it's agreed. You wouldn't want our head coach, and I wouldn't want your head cheerleader. Dabo lets his assistants do more because he has to. He has zero experience with Xs and Os. There is a reason that Clemson has the highest paid assistants in the country. Fortunately this model is working out for Clemson, but I think you'll be in a world of hurt if a big time school comes offering Morris a shot at a head coaching job. Who would Dabo get that could keep that offensive scheme rolling? You'd be stuck with a poor DC and a HC who can't run an offense.

BTW - did you happen to catch any of the Texas - OU game? The announcers kept beating home the point how much improved the OU defense was this year with their new coordinator. That can't be encouraging.

That game wouldn't have been on ABC AKA ESPN4 now would it? I didn't watch much of the game but if it was Lou "cant speak plain english" Holtz making comments like that then please do not go down that road.

I didn't like Spurrier when he as at UF and don't really like him now either. It's kinda like Lou, he has always been annoying as junk, I still cannot grasp how he has a job as an analyst when he cannot speak. Especially when he is overly biased for his past teams....as if Notre Dame does not get enough bias from everyone.

SC just didn't play against LSU like they did against UGA. If s. carolina can't bring back the team from that game the UF will not go well for the game chickens. If they bring out their best like they did against UGA it will be a good game.

Congrats to the Tigers! #19 in the BCS with 1 loss.
Bawhhaaa
Clemson doesn't even play a team with a pulse till late November.
Just win 'em all here on out and maybe...just maybe they will be
able to get us a marque match-up this year.
Cocks ain't done dropping games this year. One or two losses still loom ahead.

All Clemson can do is win the games they play. Not their fault that their conference sucks... They've been trying to schedule respectable OOC games, but the problem there is you have to schedule them so far in advance. They couldn't help it that Auburn sucks now.

We can definitely lose more games this year. @Florida will be tough, Arkansas has our number, and Clemson will be probably be a toss up. If we can't figure out how to play inspired on the road, we could easily lose this weekend and at Clemson.

I'm an idiot. Dabo was a walk on at Alabama and a starter before he left, thats not because he was physically more gifted its because he knew the offense better than anyone else. He has a great offensive X-O background which was part of the problem before Morris, he was always second guessing the O-coordinator. Part of the reason he hired Morris and gave him full control of the O is so he wouldn't have that problem because its a totally different scheme. If we lost Morris the O would suffer some but we have the skill position players to run any type of offense except the option. Boyd, Watkins, Ellington, Hopkins, Ford could play anywhere in the country.

I didn't watch the Texas game but OU gave up 21 points so don't tell me their D is that great, they won the game by scoring 9 times. Also they changed schemes to better suit the personel they have this year due to graduation and people leaving when Venables left. But continue comparing apples to bananas you gamecocks are to stupid to even compare fruit with the same shape.

Running a rout = being an offensive coordinator now? Maybe at Clemson that will get you a head coaching job, but not most places. Hiring an offensive coordinator that runs a totally different scheme so that you won't second guess his calls was the strategy behind the Morris hire? Really? Did you really just type that? Wow. Sure, Clemson has skill players - no one is doubting that. But, they still need coaching and direction.

As far as Texas - OU, 13 of those 21 points came in garbage time during the 4th quarter, when OU was up by over 50 points. But hey, don't just take my word the big turnaround - the whole country is talking about it.

http://espn.go.com/colleges/oklahom...stoops-oklahoma-sooners-defense-playing-stout

The last line in that article... "The Sooners made quite the statement in Dallas. And Mike Stoops has Oklahoma back to playing Oklahoma defense once again." :D

Oh, here's another interesting read..

http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsext...tid=708&articleid=20121016_29_B1_NORMAN628956

Players say the complexity of former coordinator Brent Venables' game plans caused too much thinking, too much analyzing, and thus prohibited pure playmaking.

Mike Stoops, said safety Javon Harris, "is more about, make the plays. You might fall out of position. The scheme might not go as planned. But go make a play."

We have not come here to slay Brent Venables. His work ethic and preparation and precision and football intelligence are unparalleled. He is a gridiron savant. He could give a week-long symposium on blitzing the B gap. He's that smart, that detailed.

But it sounds as though Venables had players thinking too much. The more complex offenses got, the more complex Venables' defenses got. Mike Stoops realized that when he returned, recognized that good players were playing bad football, and he slimmed down and simplified the game plan.

Washington relates waiting until the offense broke the huddle and linemen got in their stance and he still hadn't received the defensive call from Venables. When it finally came in, Washington still needed a quick glance at one of two armbands (they had all the defensive calls written down) to find his assignment. Hopefully he found it before the snap.

Getting lined up before the snap in a given square foot had become more important than just being aggressive and instinctively making a play.

It's not that way under Mike Stoops.

"I think Mike Stoops' defense is allowing us to go out there and make plays and play to our capabilities," said cornerback Aaron Colvin. "Last year with Brent Venables, you know, he's one of the smartest defensive minds I've ever been around. But I felt like some of our guys were a little confused last year. We didn't want to mess up as far as getting in trouble in film or you know, doing the wrong thing, which kind of hindered our abilities and what we could do on the field."

Make no mistake: This isn't about fire and brimstone. Mike Stoops hasn't scared OU defenders straight. His teeth-grinding screams and sideline fury haven't made anyone play better. As crazy as Stoops gets, he's no more intense than Venables ever was.

"No," Colvin said, "that's way overblown."

"Me and Brent, we think alike, we act alike, we coach alike," Mike Stoops said. "We're very similar. ... How I coach, my style of coaching, maybe that's unique. I don't know."

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Da Vinci said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

"But continue comparing apples to bananas you gamecocks are to stupid to even compare fruit with the same shape."
Ooooh, buuuuuurn.

What's that old saying? God bless em.
It's sad what has become of the bed
they chose. Geez the acc is below average.
Long way to go.
Busting a one loss CU would be ........
words fail me.
The fricking Swamp..... after Death Valley
then the Litter Box at season's end.
That is a season of football right there.

Pretty sure the Cocks are gonna get murdered in G'ville this weekend. Too many injuries and now the flu bug is making its rounds through the locker room. I think the only way to make me feel better is to find a bookie and lay a fat bet on the Gators. Of course, as soon as I do that, we'll play ok, but lose and cover the points.

Guess the only thing to look forward to will be the state championship. :crybaby:

19 year old kids throwing an old coach under the bus isn't good reporting or an opinion of any value, most of the kids at Oklahoma can't even spell Oklahoma. Thats just someone trying to place blame for their poor play last year and having a very convenient option in someone who isn't there any more. Our team hasn't had any problem with the play not being into the D in time, they are waiting for the O and then making adjustments, the problem is lack of playmakers and poor tackling.

You guys take it easy on us today because we SUCK big time this year. Now if anyone wants to spot me 20 points for a 12 pack, I'm game!
Kenny

Looks like there is only one game for us left to play this year. Judging how we play on the road, I'd say it's prolly not gonna be a good turkey day.

Wish I had seen this in time I could have been owed a 12 pack.

USuC has shown they can be run on, that makes me feel better about the game. Assuming Ellington is healthy then he will probably be the best back they see all year.

i wouldn't suggest that Ellington is better than the backs we saw at Georgia or the stable full of backs at LSU

But your right...clemson is our only tough game left this season...if the Caronlina that played UGA shows Clemson doesn't have a chance. The won't put more than 9 pts on the board.

I'm going to quote this one for later.

I think reality is that UGA nor USC are as good as many thought. LSU exposed a few things hopefully others can continue. There is still a chance they loose one more before they loose the Clemson game.
