I would like to see the Big Ten lose all their bowl games as well as Notre Dame. I'd like to see the southern boys from the SEC and ACC do extremely well in their bowl games as I'm sure they will.

FLA struggled against Carolina. Come on people. Good grief!

Ha, LOL. Please see tOSU at Illinois (yes, that Illinois that sports a 2-10 record on the season). 17-10 final. Like the FLA / USC game, a win is a win though. :D

You could have this arguement all day. Who's better? I guess we'll all see on Jan. 8th.

I do find it hard to argue with this statement. :D

Fla played a lot of good teams and squeeked by most of them they also squeeked past some not very good teams. OSU played only 2 games within 7 points all year. Fla isn't close and that will be proven in Jan. It also won't be that low scoring OSU has to much firepower and their QB is to good.

Yes SEC is the best football conference this yr but looking at it I think the ACC is better then people say.
ACC 8 bowl eligible teams, 4 teams that can get to 10 wins, 3 teams below .500, 3 currently ranked teams
SEC 9, 5, 3, 5
Big Ten 7, 3, 4, 3

As for WFU I don't care what sort of sob stories and things you post Andy they dont have the offense to hang and they dont have the D to stop it. I still say they lose by 10+

Not a sob story, just some coverage about a solid family and kid that are assets to the Wake community. They've had a tough year and I'm happy for them with all that's going on with our program right now.

Your opinion on the game seems to be a popular one. Like the tOSU / FLA game, we'll see in a few weeks!!

Congrats on going to Nashville and playing Kentucky. That has to feel like a LONG way from the National Championship you were yammering about last spring and summer!!!! ;)

Already have my tix and travel plans squared away. Orange Bowl here we come!!! :D

Go DEACS!!!!!

Way to go Deacs! Andy, let me know if you have some time to wet a line when you come down. If I am in town, let's fish.

Yeah good point... OSU did ONLY beat 2 #2 teams in the country... Texas at the time and Mich... and 4 ranked teams at the time they played... Florida played 4 as well... none above #8 at the time... i would say that their schedules are at least close... come on now please no more "SEC is the best" ridiculous comments ;)

OK... so what you are really saying is TX was way over-rated at the beginning of the year (#19 now). Mich almost won at OSU... and Mich got their butts kicked at home by ND, another way over-rated team. Other than that... who did OSU play?

So if the SEC isn't the toughest... what conference is it?

Big 10 - 3 in the top 20

PAC 10 - 2 in the top 20

Big 12 - 2 in the top 20

Big East - 3 in the top 20

ACC - 2 in the top 20

SEC - 5 in the top 20 - #2 and #4, 9 of 12 teams at .500 or better.

Not quite twice as good as any other conference... but it's close ;)

Don't you mean Mich kicked Notre Dame's butt?

Actually if i may correct you, Mich kicked Notre Dames butt at ND.... the only team Mich lost to was OSU at OSU... im not hating or in any way saying who has the toughest conference... i just am sick of hearing that the SEC is leagues above everyone else... there is great football and great football teams in every conference... i think the talent level across the country is getting greater every year and the quality of football is getting better even in the smaller conferences.

I agree with the ACC is better than people think-I would rate them as the second best conference this year. I don't see the Big 10 being any better than the Big East.

Thanks for the offer, Capt! That should be prime time for sails!!

We'll have to see what the schedule looks like. It may be a quick trip in on the 1st and out on the 3rd with the game on the 2nd.

That's what makes it fun :) My Big 10 buddies don't like stats either.

I do agree... more parity and it's great to see teams like WF, Louisville, Rutgers etc... crash the party.

That is what I meant... but not what I said

real footbal is played here

I'd just like to add that Ohio State is 0 forever (0-8)
against S.E.C. teams.
LOL...heck even the po old Gamecocks went into the Big House at Meeshegan
and shut up 100k fans before.
Don't even get me started about the Gators squeeking by the po old gamecocks.
A LOT of teams squeeked by USC this year. 5 teams we see ranked at the end
and at the time of the games. USC may not have beaten a good team, but they damn sure played some fine football teams this year CLOSE.
I'm telling ya they don't know speed up north. Sure a speedy player here or there
but S.E.C. has speed at just about EVERY position. Even down lineman.
UF exposes the Ohio State myth. Mark it down.
For you guys sick of the S.E.C. is the best....I'm sorry, the truth can hurt.
It is just a plain fact this year. Not every year, but this year for sure.
Big ten...geeesh....more like the big 2 with an occasionaly big 3.
The southland is going rock the pundits...again.

SEC might be the best football conference I'm not really arguing that. ACC is probably 2 or 3 this yr even though the traditional powers are down. Most of the other big conferences werent quite up to their billing either though.

The SEC is definitely not the best overall sports conference though the ACC definitely holds that title. If you just think back to last yr for example the ACC won several national championships.

Here are my predictions...Fla will whip the s*** out of OSU 21-10....not because the SEC is the best conference but because Fla is a bad ass team this year. Wake will loose...as much as I want an ACC team to win a BCS game I don't think they will pull it out....Would of been a little more confident if this past weekends game was more than a field goal game. Clemson will have a good game. And I'm not sure what the hooplaw over the number one conference is....I'm more concerned about how my team is doing...yes I want to see the ACC do as well as it can...but if Clemson were to be the only ranked team in the ACC then I'd be just as excited as if there were ten teams ranked....to me it about what you do to get it ranked...cause the only contribution the other conference teams are gonna do is loose to help you out. So everyone enjoy the bowl season and then it's only an 8 month countdown till August once it's over!

I hope you're right Chuck and that Wake plays loose. Doesn't bode well for the team when they let the pressure get to them and they play tight - too many mistakes. :grinpimp:

And oh yeah, LOWF loves the doubters! Bring it, hopefully no one gives us a chance!!! I'm not even sure if the team will bother to make the trip, doesn't seem like there's any reason!! :D

Woof! Woof!

miami

Well it looks like we finally have a coach at the U. Had to hire from within but I do like the decision to hire Randy Shannon. hopefully he'll get things turned around. I love our defense, but we really need help on the offensive side of the ball.
