This will definitely be Cokers last yr, its a shame cause hes a pretty good coach I think he just doesnt have any discipline or control right now and all the thugs they recruit from the ghetto in miami are coming out.

I don't know what info you have on the shooting but so far nothing I have read indicates Bryan Pata or the fact that he has been killed makes him a thug or that the thug who shot him was one of Coker's boys???

Actually, in comparison to some of the players with lesser character playing at the U, I've heard Pata was a good kid.

No matter what kind of kid he was though, this is still a horrible tragedy and hopefully justice is served.

I do agree with Richard though, if the decision wasn't made before now, this was the last straw for Coker. He needs to go. Someone needs to come in and restore order to the program. It is unforunate but it's reality.

And not to offend you Jim, but I have to believe there is a significant portion of the alumni base that is ready for Donna Shalala to move on as well. Some new brass with more backbone would probably be a good thing for Miami.

No offense taken, Andy. I never liked Shalala from the days of the Clinton Administration.

Miami has very few altar boys, but we need to see what happened before calling someone a thug just cause they got shot.

I, too, think Coker's days are numbered.

try try try again

Tigers D stuffs the Pack, Wake eeks out a close one over the has beens,
Dawgs can't stop the tailspin, the Cocks tip another winning TD pass
to the Gators and the Hogs McFaddenize the limping QB Vols. Who'd of
thunk you could feel sorry for the Canes. ( Capt'n...keep your U mitts
off of SOS...please)
Thursday's Cards vs Rutgers should be fun. I'd love to see Rutgers go undefeated
just to screw with the BCS.

Keep the predictions coming David, pure entertainment.

I have to say, even if it's just to throw the BCS in a tailspin, GO COCKS!!!!!!!!

Just make sure you keep Wake as the underdog. We do better that way. :D

Therein lies the "eek one out" comment. I have to say the Decs are
my "this year's bandwagon". I think they are one of the most compelling stories of 06.
Now don't go getting on the po old gamecocks bandwagon. It's generally
reserved for us old alum. hehe...Bandwagon seats are reserved for winning teams.
I love to remind people that character is often molded in defeat. We have lots
of characters at USC-east.
The OBC even laments how we've even made him a loser. :smokin:
He's pissed and determined to turn this thing around. LOL...I about
cracked up when he got on our fans for cheering the team when it lost.
We love 'em and can't help it. We may leave a game early, but gosh darn it, don't think we don't love our team.
I enjoyed his recent rip on officiating. His comments about taking up for our
players and the first amendment shows he's beginning to get the loyality
thing we so pride ourselves on as Gamecocks.
Go Wake...you underdogs you! :grinpimp:

The OBC cracks me up in his post-game pressers. Always has. Gotta love his candid and to the point nature. :D

OK sports fans, less than 60 hours until kickoff in Tallahassee. I can't sit still I am so excited. Glad Vegas has us as dogs as usual!! Hopefully it's a good game since we finally have a primetime spot on network TV.

Great read below that helps illustrate how special this year has already been for LOWF. :D

I wish you would shutup David (do note my sarcasm no meaness is intended) you picked us the last 2 weeks and we lost them both. We can still have a 10 win season and we dont need any Gamecock luck rubbing off on it.

i know ill be pulling for wake.. now that weve blown our chances, id like to see wake go all the way to the ACC CG. Plus its always a plus to see FSU lose. GO WAKE!

You need to get past Middle Tennessee State University first David. If you cant do that you wont even get bowl eligible this yr. And they said on the radio that MTSU has a really good defense, that should give your anemic offense problems.

Ahh finally some change. Maybe we can finally have a winning season.

NEW YORK (SI.com) -- Butch Davis has agreed to become the next head coach at North Carolina, two sources told the Winston-Salem Journal on Wednesday afternoon.

One source told the paper that a contract has already been signed.

According to the Journal's sources, the school has yet to decide when to make an official announcement.

North Carolina sports information director Steve Kirschner told the Journal that the university had nothing to report about its coaching search.

Davis would replace John Bunting, whom the school fired on Oct. 22, effective after the season. With an 0-5 conference mark (1-8 overall), the Tar Heels are tied for last place in the ACC Coastal Division with Duke.

Davis has not coached since 2004, when he was fired by the Cleveland Browns after amassing a 24-36 record. Prior to joining the Browns in 2000, Davis coached for six seasons at Miami, where he was 51-20.

LOL...I'd guess even with a MTSU victory the Cocks ain't going bowling.
It's been like 20 something possessions in a row the po old Lamecocks
have not sniffed the endzone, right?
I'm so green with envy that some of us are sure fire BCS bound.
How's the weather looking in Boise?

All of the buzz here is that it's heading that way but terms are still being finalized.

Either way, if and when it's formally announced, that's a good get for you guys Marshall and good for the ACC overall.

Good timing too, you guys just lost a big time recruit to ND but your class next year is still top 20 per rivals.

Richard - I can understand if you chose not to watch your last 2 games (losses) but to see an anemic offense, look no further than the last 2 Clemson games (7 and 12 points respectively). ;)

I think USC scored 20 or more in their last 2 and it was against top 15 competition...
