Hey guys this is my first post in the 100 forums ... I usually hang out in the 120 section bc I own a GX470 myself that I love ...
So long story short ... my wife and I bought a 08' Buick Enclave for her to drive a year and half ago ... It was a huge piece of depreciating crap .... I showed her the value of Toyota and Lexus over time ... got her looking at the 100 LX and Land Cruisers and she was hooked ...

We Found a two toned Woodland Green and dark grey 2000 LX470 with 111k miles in town and they swapped even with us ...
The LX needs thing here and there that I will be coming to you guys for advice with but regardless I do just love this model and styling
Now iv got a happy Wife and a home with with an LX and GX 470s ...
and If she wasn't doing it enough for me she talking mods now ... enjoy and stay tuned

Looks nice and if the :princess: is happy, so much the better.

Nice ride. Are those general grabber at? I'm looking to buy a set of tires, but its proving as hard as dress shopping with the wife. How do you like them?

I actually like them alot ... they have done really well for me on rocky terrain, quiet on the road , and decent in the mud but def no MT ...
Here is a few shots of the GX at Windrock last month ...

Your 120 is awesome. I have a Woodlands LX, best color ever.

Nice trade! You will never regret that trade in!!
Welcome to the dual ownership club!!! My wife also has the LX470, I did give her the choice of which one to take and she took the LX, that was fine with me, I like the smaller footprint of the GX for hunting, camping and basic exploring.

ok first issue ! ... apparently the back story of this vehicle that i can assume is that who ever owned it before me let it sit for awhile ... there is very low mileage gap in the service history ... the hood is very dull bc of what appears to be tree sap as well as the roof rack is faded and crusty ... which brings me to my first predicament ...

The tires are dry and cracking :( .... my first thought was to take the wheels and tires off and swap over my gx wheels and tires (which are like brand new ) ... that wont work bc the gx is a 6 lug bolt pattern and the LX has a 5x150mm pattern ... and the wheels on the GX are 17in while the LX are 16in ...
so i thought well tires are more expensive than wheels so i'll buy an affordable set of 17in Black steel wheels (pro comp maybe) that look good... then mount the new GX tires on them till we get a lift and bigger tires ... well it looks like finding a set of 17" wheels with 5X150mm pattern doesnt exist so i'll have to come up with another plan ...

any suggestions?

Later year 100/LX are 18" wheels, you could look at those. Tundra take offs are another option that seems to be popular, I'm not sure if that would run you less money than what you already considered though.

Set up a search on Craigslist with a few keywords (e.g. Land Cruiser, LX470, Tundra, rims, 275/70/18, etc.) related to wheels that will fit - Tundra, LC, LX and Sequoia share at 5lug 150mm pattern. Depending on your settings it'll feed options to your email that will likely include full rim/tire sets, or just rims that will fit your needs.

This site lists the bolt patterns that are common: Toyota _ Vehicle Bolt Pattern Reference

yeah iv been looking at that ... found some tundra wheels and tires for $450 ... ugly wheels with used tires ... i think my best option so that i dont eventualy spend money undoing what i need now is to buy 17" wheels that i like that fit the lx and mount the gx tires on them ... then later on buy bigger tires ... i'll end up sending the same amount or more for new tires to fit the 16" lx tires and be stuck with another set of used wheels and tires that i cant get a return on selling them second hand ... we're a dealer for Method race wheels and they have a few options i like

Congrats. I am also in Baton Rouge and just picked up a 2000lx. Are you all planning to do some mods. Mine is going to be daily driver so I am starting with basic maintenance and replacing head unit on radio.

Check my build thread. I'm on a similar path. I've listed part numbers of my maintenance items. All radio accessories including harness and speakers. I'm just now starting my build with tires which I'm researching.

Well I bit the bullet .... gonna order ... method 17" "standard" in black ...then transfer the Micheline tires i have on my factory gx wheels ... i think thats best option till a lift and larger tires

Ah very cool @Aubie77 !... yeah I plan to do mods but it will also be a daily driver for my wife ... top mods other than some maintenance ... wheels , tires, suspension and lift , probably build a rear bumper and tire carrier ... maybe a front and also a roof rack ... with no navigation in the unit that leaves with the option to upgrade the head unit that can play dvds for the kids so I'd also like to do that
