Yes this fj40 had been restored at least once already in its life time by a very well known shop in the fj community. After that it had been touch up and repainted again before my customer got his hands on it. I will not dog the other shops because I simply don’t know the circumstances behind the restoration but I do know that the only way we do things are all or nothing. Oh and thank you for the very nice complimentWow on so many levels! Very impressive.
So the first pics of the beige cruiser was how you received it, and all that rough welding and damage was revealed after sand blasting? Must have been a ton (literally) of body fill on it.
I definitely appreciate the kind word. As far as the clamps go i don’t think I’ll ever stop buying them lolImpressive work!....is not kind enough of a compliment.... it's beyond that . And as they say you can never own enough clamps.
Yes it is. It’s SEM heavy body self leveling. Was that black stuff seam sealer? If so what brand did you use?
I’d be glad to give you whatever info you’d like. Which part are you specifically interested in?Awesome photos, amazing work!! Can you give some details on the dash updates? I'm intrigued and blown away..
Are you using a Dakota Digital dash? Specifically though, you center mounted display. You're also using Vintage Air?I’d be glad to give you whatever info you’d like. Which part are you specifically interested in?View attachment 2771540

We are using Dakota digital display. The center mounted screen is the radio. The bezel for the radio houses Restmod ac and heat controls. The ac unit is restmod .Are you using a Dakota Digital dash? Specifically though, you center mounted display. You're also using Vintage Air?
All I can say is that I truly appreciate the compliments. I worked super hard on this thing.Generally I like the old dashes in the old rigs, but given what you‘re doing with this build that dash is totally tripendicular. And the build quality, wow I guess that’d be quadendicular . And those clamps! I think you could single handedly clamp down New Orleans with Ida on her doorstep.
That dash handle bar looks great. Is it billet aluminum, or 3D printed? Does it mount to the stock holes, and is it something that's available for purchase?I’d be glad to give you whatever info you’d like. Which part are you specifically interested in?View attachment 2771540
