If it's in good shape, this is a good deal...granted it's in Alabama...

03 Lexus gx470

we looked at one in Baton Rouge two weeks ago, decided against it - the price point is too high unless you are an enthusiast, and I doubt these will ever get the following that cruisers have - practically no resale value left at that high mileage

if anyone wants more info on this vehicle, contact me, I test drove it: 2003 Lexus GX 470 - OBO - he dropped the price by $1K since then, and he was willing to negotiate

I would disagree with the value portion of your comment. High mileage 4runners are still commanding high $$ in resale. Especially the V8, and the true enthusiasts know that the GX is in fact a Land Cruiser Prado. I have seen several for sale with 300k+ miles, and they are still selling for decent money. Just my opinion and little bit of research Ive done.

they are worth what someone is paying for them - I liked the GX and I would not hesitate to drive one, I am just not enthusiastic enough to pay the premium - we were looking to buy a vehicle for ~6 months for an exchange student to use and then we'd sell it again

Only one thing would draw me to the GX470 and that is KDSS. From my research the rest of the running gear is pretty much the same as the Surf/4Runner/FJ Cruiser. Nothing that makes me want to buy one over a 4Runner. Just like any other Toyota SUV made the last twenty-five years it's not something I would buy online without doing a personal inspection. They are not that rare. Plus add the cost of shipping and those prices aren't that great.

John I've got a 3FE out of a 88 FJ62 sitting in my garage. I'm sure it work for you. Just a thought. Picked up cheap and would sell it to cheap. Pulled from a FJ62 in Tucson by somebody looking for more power and installed a V8.

I have to break the habit of looking at 80's till both my kids get some kind of degree and land a job that pays ;). If I had room a 3FE would fit nicely next to the 2F in my shop. I am just still waiting for this 1F to wear out, Lol. Generous offer, thank you

Murf, will those wheels above ^^^^ allow for mounting the 37's I've heard so much about?

Indeed, time to step up

What gearing would 37"s require in a FZJ80? With the current trend might consider going a five bolt pattern for the 100 series. That's something I not worried about I'm still stuck Living in the Past.

37's on the 100, the wife might not approve:princess: as she already hates the 80 with its small lift and average size tires.

Just checked the FJ25 forum and the rust belt vultures are already circling. Can't any of these stay local?!:flipoff2:
