Damn... just got off the phone with my Vet. She's very concerned about Finn's broken baby teeth so she got a veterinary dentist consult and I need to take him in for Xrays and most likely surgery to remove the broken stuff to prevent it from getting infected or messing the adult teeth up. Cost isn't major but I'm really worried about repeatedly putting a puppy under anesthesia.... :(

If you'd like me to hook you up with Hartney Greymount I;d be happy to try. They have a stellar rep and mainly work high end accounts. They'll train the right people. Rainy days aren't a day off there, they hold classes and instructional classroom type seminars on days too ****ty to climb trees. It's not a hack outfit. The guys I know have been there almost 10 years which is an eternity for any job these days.

Seriously, I'm happy to help and I know 2-3 guys that work there. Many of them have college degrees and just hated office jobs.

They are an excellent company to work for, they are an 'employee owned company' and run an clean operation. The owner of company that taught me how to climb is good friends with the owners over there.

Bummer about the pup dave, its my big fear with our little guy meeting all these big dogs.
We have a very high stress dog... you would think traveling at 35kts+ would bother him, but no.

Thanks guys.

I'm gonna check this guy out and see how it goes. I've had it working for companies that don't care about their employees(*cough* Harpoon *cough*), so working for a guy I know is cool. Hartney Greymount sounds neat too, employee owned is great.

I appreciate the feedback, including the rant.

In other news, I lost my last grandparent yesterday. Time does march on. It's making me think about how I'll lose my parents and be sitting on top of a lonely heap someday.

Time to start collecting cats and practice my "Get of my lawn!".

Sorry to hear of your loss. :frown:

You should move to Pawtucket. Its apparently the cat hoarding capital of the world. Almost weekly you hear about animal control pulling 40+ cats out of peoples houses.

Finn is out of surgery and it was a success. He had a lot of small, loose tooth fragments and what the teeth below the break and gums were cracked and a mess. With that all removed he should be able to heal right and have his adult teeth come in properly.

well finished cutting up the 4runner today, i always swore i would be its last owner:hillbilly: the poor trucks frame was just to far gone the sawz-all made quick work out of it's demise kinda sad considering it was my first toyota and has been with me for 7 years:frown:.
Alot of parts have gone to give new life to outer toyota's tho

rip 1988 4runner:steer:

Dave, dog will get over it. When our last doberman was a puppy, I stepped on her and broke her leg. Saddest thing in the world. Puppy with a dixie cup on her head with her ears taped up and now a full cast on her front leg. Didn't phase her a bit.

Nat, update the sig. I know you cut yours up, but I said RIP to my 85 4runner last year and six months later it showed up on Craigslist.

Drove the HJ around town for errands today. Jeep pulls up in parking lot. Driver says 'that sure is a nice TOYota you got there.' I say thanks expecting a heep/Toyota discussion and she says ' I am obviously a jeep person, but i definitely have respect for that.' Priceless.

So the other day I am in Providence and there are two lanes merging on an onramp getting onto 95. I am in the line with traffic and am just after the point where the two on ramps merge and its now my lane even though it a large lane. This woman flies up from behind me on the on ramp that doesn’t have any traffic and tries was going to try to squeeze by me so I just take up a little more of the lane.

Once we get onto 95 North she pulls up aside of me and starts yelling at me. Screw her I had the right of way. While she wasn’t yelling at me and not paying attention she comes into my lane and hits my fender with her mirror. We stop and I call the cops. Well the State Trooper was very unhelpful as usual (they should change their slogan to “Always there when you DON’T need them”) and says they don’t write accident reports for anything less than $1000 worth of damage. Now its my word against hers.

So I get home and call my insurance company and I am on the hook for anything under $500, my deductable. So I clean the black paint off from her mirror to find a nice little dent but no damage to the paint. So I call Action Auto in Cranston near my work which does paintless dent removal and go over there last night to see if they can fix it. They made an appointment for this morning and had it fixed in about an hour for $95. I haven’t seen it yet but if their work is half as good as their service I am going to be happy.

Now comes the fun of trying to get the $95 from this dishrag's insurance company.

Thank god its Friday. I’m ready for a beer.

wow that sucks dude what was her problem did you bitch her out for being a dizzy bitc$?

Yeah we had some choice words for each other. I tried to stay calm when the cop came. Losing you head doesn't usually pay infront of a cop.

At least its only $95. I am going to try and recoup from her insurance company. I hope that they will just pay it. It would be cheaper for them in the long run. I'll send them pics of the damage and the invoice. If I end up taking her to court they need to represent and it will cost them more in the long run.

Trucks all fixed now :)

I would highly recomend Action Collision in Cranston on Atwood Ave if anyone needs body work done in the RI area.

well i went to lowes today to grab some plumbing stuff to fix a leaky faucet on my home on the way back the transmition was shifting a little funny diden't think much of it about 1 1/2 miles later i pulled up to my driveway to back in put it in reverse and nothing then it fanaly slamed in got it parked and jumped out all to find out there was tranny fluid EVERYWHERE:mad::bang::bang::bang:

I've been rebuilding a couple of 80 axle's to go under Barton's 91. These are e-locker ones while his aren't. The day was going great until I get a phone call from some whining little s*** with a broke ass tranny and fluid all over his driveway.

Bugger Jason, what a pita.

Rick, what did The Midge do anyhow? At least we just manhandled a parts tranny into a hard to get to shed corner.

funny i also got a call from a big little bitch whining about how he couldn't find some .20 shims and his world had collapsed around him because of it:flipoff2::beer:

So yesterday we are up at the in-laws helping to close the pool. My FIL and I get the tarp over it and I get about half way around filling the water bags when I notice that I haven’t seen the dog in a while. I wanted to make sure he wasn’t in the street so I start calling for him. Anyway he got into the house so my wife lets him out and he comes running towards me. Once he gets to the open pool gate I realize that is wasn’t stopping. He knows the pool is there but guess he figured it wasn’t water any more so starts running diagonally across the pool. Since we were all yelling he stops. Then I tell him to keep going. He was able to jump across the last couple feet to the other side without sinking.

It’s a good thing he didn’t fall through with all the pool shock that was in there he would have turned into a yellow lab for sure.
