I think it was right in the middle, the Passaconaway Campground. Went into both Lincoln and North Conway at different points for supplies. Been a while since I camped without power and water. Had a marine battery and power inverter for my Cpap which worked great. Took a few small hikes, ate and drank way too much sitting around the campfire but had a great time with my friends.

Tomorrow it's back to the real world.

I have a CPAP too. Good idea. Might need that set up for the FG. I'm usually a zombie the day after not using it

We had a small problem before I went to work today. The baby exploded in her swing about 15 minutes before I had to leave for work. She doesn't poo every day so when she does its big one. All over her clothes though them onto the blanket and the swing.

She ended up needing a bath. Needless to say I was late for work. My wife and I just sat there laughing.

Dont worry dude, you can always come mow lawns for me!

Good to know that I have something to fall back on. :)

Whats the benefit package like? Matching 401k? Do I get a seat in the truck or is it the dogs and I have to ride in the bed?

My new pup had a rough weekend while I was gone camping. Our dogs had spend the morning on a walk/play date with our neighbors dogs, and somehow Finn and the neighbor's Black lab got caught up in our small back hallway where the food is. The big dog bit Finn on the face, needed stitches in 2 places and broke a few baby teeth. We think Finn surprised him or something, it happened in a split second, Sara didn't realize the big dog had followed her inside with Finn.

All in all though he's recovering very well. The lampshade comes off in 10 days and he doesn't seem traumatized at all, still chasing after our adult lab. The neighbors are, of course, horrified, paid for all the vet bills, etc. Their dog has always been super laid back, he and Finn actually have the same dad (and breeder).

We think it was just a matter of the food and confined space right after high activity... lesson learned.

Thinking about picking up some work from an arborist I don't know.

He knows I'm bright, ain't sceered, and have no experience. I usually have scabs, but am not interested in getting hurt, whether by trauma or repetitive motion.

Anyone have any tips? How much $ is in this? He seems pretty straight, but I could be reading him wrong. Know any danger signs?

Poor little guy.

We also get together with other dogs on Sunday and two of the labs had a litter. Two weeks ago one of the puppies were hanging off Logan's toung. He just kept moving his head.

Will you be cutting down trees?

I have taken down a couple big trees as I am too cheap to hire somone. Just make sure you have the right gear and take your time. No need to hurry and hurt yourself or someone else.

I think it will be mostly tree removal. I know to watch out for crews that move too fast to be safe, but I definitely can't recognize safe technique from unsafe (aside from obvious).

My neighbor works for Hartney Greymount. Makes decent money and is the sole breadwinner of the house and owns his own house. They have 2 kids, 2 cars, and seem to do fine. I;ve asked him about cutting down trees and he said only stupid people get hurt (ie. arrogant, careless, hung over, etc) He trusts the guys in his crew. He;s afraid of painting his house on a ladder but will climb an 80 ft tree without blinking.

I can put you in touch with him if you want some real answers. PM me

I'll save the rant, but hear me out. I have been in the landscape field for fourteen years and just a few years ago learned how to CORRECTLY fell trees. Do you know what a hinge cut is? Can you identify a tree with verticilllium? I thought I knew how to feel a tree until I worked alongside an arborist for a week. Boy was I wrong. I learned correct techniques that I have been using and improving on for years and still get apprehensive on felling jobs. Confidence kills. And so do diseased trees. You can be felling and one side or the heartwood may be diseased , and if you are unaware of this the tree may come down sooner than you think, spin the wrong way, or worse pinch and kick back the saw.

If you are working alongside him, try it out. Does he climb, use a bucket truck, prune, or just fell? Learning these skills correctly is a valuable tool. If he wants you to fell trees for him, be careful. Wear chaps (if you're operating a saw), helmet, ear protection, eye protection. My brothers good friend died last year when he was working for an arborist. They can teach you wonderful things, but they don't guarantee survival.

An arborist license is next on my list of professional goals. You can go far with it. Follow John's lead. Hartney Greymount is an excellent company.

If you'd like me to hook you up with Hartney Greymount I;d be happy to try. They have a stellar rep and mainly work high end accounts. They'll train the right people. Rainy days aren't a day off there, they hold classes and instructional classroom type seminars on days too s***ty to climb trees. It's not a hack outfit. The guys I know have been there almost 10 years which is an eternity for any job these days.

Seriously, I'm happy to help and I know 2-3 guys that work there. Many of them have college degrees and just hated office jobs.
