awesome man cant wait to see that 45 lifted
now lets hope your wife doesn't answer the door when the ups guy comes with that lift or we may be seeing it in the 4sale section
Hoping to avoid that by giving them the weights of the truck. I told them I would be carrying about 200+lbs of weight in the truck. I also put in a 39.5" swamper and a bed mat in it when I took it to the scale.
About a month ago I was under the 45 and put my hand in one of the holes in the frame to ensure that every things seem solid. There was about ¾” to 1” of mud in the frame. Well last night I spend about an hour and a half cleaning dirt out of the frame rails. There doesn’t appear to have been any adverse affects. The frame still seems very solid.
I am in the process of cleaning the frame up so I can paint it to keep the rust at bay.
The 40series has 3" holes along the inside of the frame rail. I fit a small screwdriver in there and broke up the dirt and pulled most of it out by hand. To get the rest I stuck the hose in there and let it run until the water ran clear (we have really good water pressure in Pawtucket).
I think there may still be some larger stones left in there that I will try to get.
Good way to paint the inside of the rails is with a toilet brush... worked great when I POR'd my frame. I don't think I'd want to drill holes in the bottom... just going to give the dirt and moisture an easier path to get between the seam along the bottom.
