Is that Duxbury Beach?? Miss living there. millis beach isn't as nice

Taking the 70 to a car show down the street tonight. I'm sure I'll get waved into the visitor's parking lot instead of the show area.:confused:

Sure enough the Car show people asked me to move the 70 to the visitors lot where "new cars" should be parked. I politely explained that the 70 was more rare than his 57 Chevy. He rolled his eyes and walked away. Guess I should bring the 40 next time and save the trouble. Kept the 70 right where it was between a 78 Corvette and an old Mercury. Odd that he busted balls about my "new car" when there were 4 2009 Dodge Challengers in the mix and too many Fox body Mustangs to count.

Ironic that these shows advertise to get younger people involved in car shows but kick you out if you car doesn't have fins on it.

That sucks John. Last year I took the 45 to a local car show. The guy obviously had no clue what the truck was because he told me that once a month they have a Jeep car show. I told him I would be sure to spread the word to those which Jeeps.

Have you ever wanted to key a handicap persons car? I walk into Stop & Shop yesterday and there is a late 80's Corvette parked at an angle taking up two handicap spots. Like one wouldn't have been sufficient. I mean come on it has the giant strip in the middle for the vans. Anyway when we were walking out I saw the guy get into it. He didn't seem to handicap.

As I was walking into Dunkin Donuts once, I saw this guy pull in and park in that giant strip area between those two spots, get out of his car and walk in right behind me. He then proceeded to walk up to the counter and place his order by cutting everyone in line.

I was speechless.

Ian has been down in Nashville Tenn. all this week with a couple of teams from his school
participating in Destination Imagination. It's a competition where students are given problems to
work out. Sort of a Geek type olympics! These are the Global Finals so there are teams from all
around the world.
Ian's team came in 10th overall in their challenge! He called last night and was totally pumped!
One of the other teams from his school came in 21st in their challenge.

The boy yesterday....

He's wet because right after finally grabbing the frog he fell ass-backwards into the river.... didn't drop the frog though. :) It was hilarious and, thankfully, the frog survived it all.

I had an ex girlfriend who broke her leg so bad she was in a cast for about 4 months. She got a temporary handicap tag to park with. One day I was driving her around (her car was a stick shift) and parked in a Whole Foods parking lot in the handicap spot. I got out first and she was still in the car for a bit fumbling with something. The manager came out and started to rip into me about parking there and what a horrible person I was. I stood there silent and smiled. Finally my girlfeind hobbled out of the car with her crutches. I ripped into him about 10X worse (I was much younger then)

Aside from that, I usually give people s*** if they park in a handicap spot and clearly are not handicapped. This world is very lazy.

Last year, pumping gas in the FJ, I watched a woman pull into the only handicap spot, lock the door with her too kids in the back seat, then go in the convenience store. Minded my own business until an elderly couple WITH a sticker pulled up and had no place to park. I left the nozzle in the truck, went in the store and berated her military style  in front of the cashier and other customers. Told her how much of a good mother and citizen she wasn't.

Dave, funny about the frog. I found one the other day and told Colin to catch it. He was all over it, which was surprising since he is kind of a clean fingernail kid.

Went wheeling with ENH on stock runs with the HJ. Couple spots had me worried, but she came through unscathed.....even when the parking brake slipped and the roobar bashed the hatch on a eep Cherokee.:whoops: Guy was a great sport, but now instead of cruiser parts, I may have to spend money on eep parts.:frown: Never a problem before, so guess these things slip when they get wet? Anyway, the HJ was great and I think I felt for the first time the essence of how truly great these trucks wheel.

Great shot Dave, It's a good age for kids, glad to see you guys get him
outside. Too many kids have turned into couch/video game potatoes and they
have no idea what nature is like.
Need to get Jack and Colin together and form a young explorers club!
Ernie that run looked good. Powerlines near Carnage? Looked like you guys filled the parkinglot
at the meeting place.
Bette and I took the canoe out this morning and had a nice paddle exploring the Asheulot river
near our house.

Anything wrong with buying a 1990 4Runner? I know nothing about these trucks. Found one at a good price with a newer engine and trans.

Can somebody give me the nickel dissertation on 4Runners??

had a great day today, diner for breakfast, then a nice ride in the truck. Came home, got my lawn mowed and the rain started. Finally let Jack watch the first Star Wars movies, his SW obsession is officially turned up to 11. He's played the Lego Star Wars video games and has lots of books but were holding off on the movies themselves until now. He was not disappointed. :)

Spent the now-sunny afternoon doing a garden center run and more yardwork. Got the car and truck washed inside and out. Had one truck window drop into the door but got it back on track easily enough. Inner door panels pull off pretty easily.

Now relaxing and contemplating a bowl of miniwheats for "dinner."

Going to a BBQ at a friend's house tomorrow, taking the Cruiser of course. They just bought a new Tacoma and are interested in some light offroading so there should be good truck-talk. :)

Yes, legal powerlines and other trails around Carnage.

1990 4runner....which engine? The dislikes for this model involve the 3.0 v6

- low on power (150HP), although more usable torque than 22re
- engine bay cramped, difficult to work on if necessary
- 3.0 notorious head gasket problems 90-94. Toyota issued recall.
