Placed a Marlin order a week ago saturday.

The UPS tracking information showed as "Billing information recieved" until today, same as the last time I placed an order. I don't know why this is so hard for them.

Today I received someone else's order. I think the gentlemanly thing to do is overnight my order and give me a shipping label to return the wrong order. They won't next day my order, and didn't tell me that apparently they hadn't actually shipped my order to someone else, which would be an honest mistake. Rather they had managed to not tell me that part of my order was on backorder, and that it's ready to go out now.

Everyone has only the best things to say about their products, but I am unimpressed with the service I've received.

dude that sucks this kind of s*** can kill a company. Hopefully they fix there problem or people will be going else where, this is one of the reasons why i don't go to all pro offroad anymore there shiping department is junk just not worth the hassle and im staring to think the same with Marlin, getting my orders shiped to my door is like pulling teeth:mad: hopefully marlin sees this post and fixes this problem even if he has to fire the idiots in the shiping department

I was pretty irritated yesterday, working in the rain, Marlin, being a grumpy dude, etc.

But the day ended with drinks with GWAR and beer on tap in my house again. I think I'll make it.

Wife is now refusing to drive the 70. Not a good sign. Says he shifter is weird and she doesn't like the noise of the diesel though she does like the vibration. Throwing a wrench in the DD scheme

Didn't get the truck done today, spent all day on yardwork, putting in planting beds, lots of mowing, cleanup, tilling, etc. My wife is even planting a second big garden in our neighbor's yard. She's a planting fool.

Will call around on Monday and get it in to put on the new tires and do the inspection next week.

Reminder: Mother's Day tomorrow.

Plan is to take her Volvo SUV to VT and NY for my long-drive work trips and she'll drive the 70 to her job. As of now that's not happening. Also, she's been asking if it will be reliable. I blew an oil line last week and managed to fix it without her knowing anything happened. Of course after a few beers last night I started talking cars with my neighbor and I brought the oil line thing up while wifey was sitting there. The look on her face could have scared a bull.

Going to let her drive it today as a Mother's Day gift. She'll be so happy.

nothing wrong with driving tired iron as a daily driver but you have to be ready for failures at any time. I know my wife wouldn't be down with that.

Hell, I love the 80s but if I just took delivery on one I wouldn't rely on it as a DD until I went through it completely.

I've gone thru most of it but there looks to be some things like a couple hoses and perhaps new belts that are on the list. Worked on the brakes and clutch already. There will always be that X factor there for breaking down. She has a 1/2 hour commute on back roads.

On the other hand, it does satisfy my monthly cruiser sales quota

OCD* Is there a place we can go for thereapy?

*Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or, as I call it, Obsessive Cruiser Disorder. I'm beginning to think 5 is too many by 2. Wil probably put them all up for sale and keep what's left after the good ones are gone. FJ80, FJ62, 2 1978 FJ40's and the compost pile that is a '72 :D

I'll have to bring the FJ62 to the meeting as the 40 is still laid up with the leaky gas tank and the lack of enough roundtuits. Gary R is supposed to bring me a tank. I'm hoping for lots of mud on those stock trails so I can give the 62 a workout. It's for sale for $1995, so please put down a deposit early in the day before I bang it up

I mounted up the old 33X9.5 Muds on stock rims this week and they look better than the 235's and seem to clear OK. Here's a couple pix so you can see what a rubber lift looks like after doing one side.

Going to add some custom roller paint between now and then, so it should be the sharpest restoration at teh meeting.

Pulled the trigger today.
