I just drove my 40 back from Wally's on Saturday to Connecticut, Took me about an hour to get used to her, But after that it was smooth sailing, It was about a 5 hour ride, It was cool, I was getting a bunch of looks on the highway:steer::D

Wife's XC90 is officially dead. Radiator is dead which leaked antifreeze into the transmission which killed it. Common problem with XC90's and the dealer told me VOlvo should fix it for free.

Went to the Lexus dealer so the wife could look at an RX350. She saw the GX470 and loved it. Fingers crossed on the 470. Told her that I get to chop it up when she's done with it.

So I was all set to get out and do some work on the cruiser last night. The wife was working and the baby was at my mothers so I thought I was all set.

The whole date was beautiful until I got out of work then it turned grey and thunder storms rolled through. Not a problem I'll just do a little cleaning in the garage until it clears up.

About an hour it clears up and I'm all set to head outside to finish drilling for my powersteering box. I stripped out two garbage drill bits, threw up my hands called it a day and had a beer.

Tundra Update

Yesterday I got my first letter from toyota that said "...uh..you should bring your truck in for a frame crossmember recall checkup." I already did. In January.

The dealership took my truck over three months ago, saying it was unfit to drive, with a big hole in the front of the frame, and the back half not much better. Awesome communication with national.

I have been in a toyota issued rental car (now a new tundra, but I don't really drive it- gas is too much) for three months at $35 a day. So the quick math on three months is around $2550 that they have already paid for me to have my truck, which I am still paying on, sitting at their shop.

I got a phone call today from the dealer stating that they "have received the word" that toyota is, in fact, going to do full frame replacements on 2000-2003 tundras with bad frames. The guy said optimistically it would take a month, but probably longer.

The truck is worth roughly 8K, and the repairs (frame, rear springs, control arms, brake bias thing in the back, all new brake lines, etc) with labor come out to almost $13K, according to the dealer- all of which toyota is paying. Total cost to toyota (with another month of rental fees) will be minimum 16K for my truck worth half of that. I do not understand their math, but appreciate it.

It will give me the opportunity to do things I wanted to on the truck- like the timing belt, o2 sensors and the like- at a much reduced cost, as the parts are already out. The dealer said any bolt on stuff (like shocks) can be bought by me and installed at no charge- looks like the tundra is getting the Billstein 5100's.

Just thought I would share- again, if you know anyone with a tundra in New England- get it to the dealer for inspection. They are going to make it right- though I wish they would just buy me out. Still happy to have a basically new rig, and good to see toyota is making it right.

I was just talking to my neigbor who is the service manager at Fox Toyota. He said they were going to start replacing frames.

He was also telling me they loved doing the Tacoma's since the job paid 60 hours and he had two guys doing the swap in a day and a half. I guess Toyota is only paying 30 hours for the Tundra's and they are more work than the Tacomas. So none of the techs want to do the work.

Been walking more the last few days, trying to get my fat ass back on the wagon, and my biggest issue is my lower back.... can any of you sporty types recommend some good back stretches?

Randy is probably the only one qualified to give serious exercise advice. When it comes to the back, I wouldn't take random advice from just anyone. That can really mess you up if you do something wrong. Twisting is bad so don't do it. Walking will build the back muscles up enough to start doing serious moves. Light yoga is probably the best all-round thing you can do to get on the best track

I injured my back in a accident, I went from chiropractor to chiropractor until I found this one, absolutely awesome, hooked my back up and taught me how to keep it that way, I would highly recommend searching for a qualified chiropractor.

My wife looks at me today and asked if I checked the depth setting on my mustache trimmer, it must have been obvious that I just trimmed it?

Yes, ever since that time years ago Mike moved it and I shaved half my mustache off.

That's good because I think he's been moving it to the closest setting to trim himself for his girl friend

Any short and curlies in that trimmer and he's a dead boy!

We got our first Tundra frame on Thursday. Ill be starting it when I get a Tacoma I just tore apart back together.

We have had 6 sitting at the dealer since December and the customers have been in rentals. Then there are a bunch more that chose to drive their trucks.

Toyota must have caught on to the deal though. Tundra 2wd are 40 hrs and 4wd 42 hrs.

I don't get it. The Tundra's are rotting out now? What dealer you work at?

the tundra frames were made (in america- so I understand) at the same place the taco frames were- so I hear. It was just a matter of time. There is a current recall on the rear crossmember rotting out and making the spare tire fall out- they are finding that frames are compromised at the hangers and up by the front a arms. My front rail over the DS tire has a hole in it that I never saw.

Wifey just bought the 2005 GX470. Psyched! Great looking truck. Picking it up on Monday

Wifey just looked up the 470 on the dealers website to see the pics cuz she was so excited about the new truck. Their "no haggle, lowest price" on the window sticker was $800 higher than the price that is listed online. I am insanely pissed off. I'll be there at noontime tomorrow in the sales managers office to "discuss" this price difference. I'll be scaring off some customers for sure. I hate getting screwed.

Typical lowballing tactics. They did that to me. I hate dealers. I really hate them. They are the biggest crooks out there.
