Mace-What did you do with the original fuel caps? Send them to me if you don't want them. I have some gasket material and put new gaskets in them and I like the old style look with a screw in the center.
Your 62 200A is a "Burgundy" and it was only made in that color for 18 months or so. Otherwise the 200as varied from tomato red to cherry red over the 30 years they made it. There are a few that have a green vent - "Christmas" lanterns. There are even a few "black bands" where the frame support is black.
You have quite a pile of these at this point.

I still have all of the original fuel caps. I prefer them for the look too, but apparently they are not as safe as the brass ones for use. Beats me if that is true or not. I'll see how many I actually have and let you know if I want to get rid of them. I do want to keep the red ones tho.
I'd love to find a yellow 200A, but those are exceedingly hard to come by. Christmas tree 200a's are very cool as well.
Donno why all of the vents look to be burgundy on the 200a's. Even the vent on the Burgundy 200A is the more standard "red". It may or may not be factory that way. From what I understand, Coleman had some vents left over in the old colors, and combined them with the burgundy base.

The vents get darker as they get hot. All red vents look burgundy to me when they have run for 5 minutes.
And it's the very old caps with the hole in the sides of the threads for pressure relief that are said to be unsafe. If you opened the cap of a running stove or lantern, it could spray fuel into the fire (theoretically). I've made it a point to take off caps only on cool, unlit devices, but only a moron would take the cap off a running pressure stove. I guess Coleman thought most of their customers were morons, and so we got the 1 piece caps.

That looks great- you will get another 40 years out of that. That was a very nice running lantern right from the start. The 220/228 are quiet and nice and bright. I hope you enjoy it!

Picked these up yesterday from an old family friend that bought them new. I have only tried to light the stove but might require a few new seals. Will get some mantles and try the lantern too. Is Coleman online the best place for parts?

Canadian invasion
Got some mid 70's Canadians I thought I'd post up. 335's are 50% brighter than a 200A but are still small and compact. 335s are good lanterns, and are made traditionally and without o-rings.
They are not that common in the USA, but are very common in Canada. I like them because they are cheap and very bright for their size.
They look very similar to 321s, in fact many of the parts are compatible. here is a 321 that I no longer have. (I did not like it due to the 0-ring valve).
