Very low flame output comes from not pumping up the pressure in the tank to much.
Not exactly vintage, but my neighbor threw this cooler out by the curb on trash day the other day, and I happened to be there to grab it. I could not believe my eyes, a steel Coleman cooler, no dents or damage, only the latch is broken and it looks like I can get a new one for $5.
Not sure what or why those stickers are one there, that must be a drink of some kind. I peeled the smaller one off and need to clean up the adhesive.

Been looking for this set for a loooong time, and finally got it NIB (and dirt cheap even) off flea-bay. Go figure.
Coleman Peak 1 Exponent mess kit with multi-fuel stove (white-gas, unleaded, and Kero, after generator switch) AND the ever-so-hard-to-find flame guard.
I'd only call it crappy if it were a lot better, it barely qualifies as beer IMHO.
Back in my salad days I had a neighbor from Ohio, he drank Rolling Rock whenever he could get it. I managed to choke down a few cases with him.
Rolling rock is not bad.
the light version is almost undrinkable.. I prefer Meister Chow over it..

Just bought this on Craigslist. Made the deal over the phone, will pick it up this weekend. It is a 1973 model 413G in excellent shape. Comes with the original box as well.

Very nice. Coleman's best and most useful model.
Very true though I still use my 425 because of the size and being only 1 camping.
I do like the additional power of the 413.

1973 413G came home.
I went and picked up the 1973 Coleman 413G stove. Real nice older gentleman that had it, he bought it new. Said he used it maybe a couple times. Had other stoves he used as well.
When I got there after we looked it over I pulled out the $25 we agreed on and he said just give me $20. I said I'll give you the $25 and he said $20 is fine. $20 it was and it was greatly appreciated.
So I put the stove in the back and the family and I took a side trip to the Bass Pro Shop outdoor store that was close by in Clarksville Indiana and then headed home. It came in the original box with the original instructions. Box is showing it's age more than the stove. Looks like he gave $1.57 more for it when he bought it new.

Looking for a 200A Lantern and I would prefer to buy here on Ih8mud. I'm not a collector but do want a single to go with my doubles. I want a decent user lantern, not some collector piece I'd be afraid to light.

200a obtained for $18
228F "Big Hat" obtained by accident but has clogged fuel air tube and does not run well. Upcoming project for my next day off.
242a (Hot Rod 1 mantle) on the way, looks from pics to be in good shape.
The white gas stuff is superior in many ways to propane, and the stoves and Lanterns are kind of like Land Cruisers. Heavy, reliable, and rebuildable.
I hope to be ready for the relic run one of these years.

So, I go over to this guy's house to look at something for sale and noticed couple of Coleman lanterns in various stages of disassembly on the work bench. When I inquire what the deal is he says to me "oh, I just refurbish them and then toss them up on the shelf". None of them are for sale! I think he had about 50 lanterns in his house.

Messing with old Coleman stuff is my other hobby...
Here are a few I have...
My users are a red Nov. 1971 200A Lantern that matches the year of my FJ40, a Sept. 1946 242C Lantern that burns VERY bright as sips fuel, a 3/63 model 502 single burner stove I use for back packing and my favorite camp stove a 1965 425D.
I'm currently working on getting a 1976 413G stove ready to take out to Moab next week. The wife for unknown reasons wants to tent camp in the desert... No arguments from me...
