The Best Engine For The 80 Series Is The 1hdt Diesel

I have drove a B, 3B, 13BT, 1HZ, 1HZ-T, 2H, 1KZ, 1KD, 2F, 1FZ, 22R, 3K, 2L, 2LT, 3L and a 1PZ.
B and H series are bulletproof, but Ill prefer the 1HDT over all Toyota engines.

I love my 1hdt! Last week the 80 hit 23 years old, and has over 260,000 miles on it, the last 80,000 plus with my size 10 on the throttle. I did the BEB pm just in case @180,000 when I bought it over seven years ago.

So let me think what other repairs I have done? Everything is in my My LC 80 thread.

So repairs are er....a thermostat and water pump.......that's it, and I work that motor hard in 40+ C heat on and off road. 100 MPH is easy enough if you have little regard for your licence, I am happy enough at the legal max here of 75 MPH, and sipping juice around 26 - 28 miles per gallon. :flipoff2:

Dave

Import 1HDT's (low-km from Japan) cost about $8k and 1HDFT's are about $11k. That's Australian dollar prices not USD! Being 'low km' generally means approx 50 k km's before the motors must be removed due to Japan's emissions laws. I don't know the exact detail of how this works or how the motors are verified to be operating either pre-export or after importing.

Does anyone have information about the correct Isuzu clutch components to fit a 1HDT or 1HDFT motor to a H150F box in an 80?

I'm told that H150F's are made for 79 series (?) which have the same spline config as the H151F box in 80's.
