The heavy duty A to Z fab spindle is the same one I have used on the past bumpers I have built, and I have never had any problems. The last one I built had a 34" tire, hi-lift jack, 2 gerry cans, axe, and a shovel on one swing out. Used that bumper myself for several years on lots of trips, and never had any sagging or any signs of wear on the spindle.

The sliders look great been trying to figure out the converter skid to install mine but I think I now have an idea.
Thanks

Just went back to the A to Z Fab website. They don't have a weight rating on the site, so might be rated for more than 700 pounds. They claim it is for a swing out with a 37 inch tire and all your other accessories.

New plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap installed. Don't know if the picture is clear enough to make out the year, but the wires were original 1997. All the plugs were Autohome Platinum. The parts were all replaced with parts out of little red boxes (OEM). I can already tell a major difference in the way the truck idles.

New fuel filter, oil filter and oil change coming right up!

Ok good just wanted you to be aware and others that read the thread.

I think the strength of the pivot partly comes down to the attachment on the other end as well. Movement is not a good thing and will fatigue even the strongest pivot and welds.

So..... I started on my leather switch last night. Pain in the A**! I did one of the back seats, and just put it back in. Once installed realized the arm rest is upside down. I think I will have to take the seat back leather back off to fix it. Any ideas??? Or am I just screwed?

On another note, the leather looks great! Pics coming soon.

Rear Bumper

Got to work on the rear bumper a little this weekend. I only took the 3 pictures, but will get more as things progress. The bumper is now off the truck, cleaned up, holes drilled for the spindals, and the spindals installed. The bumper itself is 2x4x3/16 material, the sides are 2x6x 3/16 and the brackets that attach it to the frame are 3x3x1/4 angle iron. I used the 6 1/2 inch captured nuts that were used on the OEM tow hitch. I am also using 2 bolts through the frame in addition to those.

OH yea... the resonator is now gone. Will probably re-route the exhaust and reinstall it at some point.

Bumper looks good.

Do you happen to have a pic of one of the wings from directly behind. I built one pretty much with identical specs and just wanted to see the relationship of your wings to the body as it moves in towards the back. Thanks.

I will have to get a picture for you. They fit very close, and are angled the same as the rear panel on the truck.

Thanks, mine are too, a little to close really, even though I tacked them while on the truck they still moved in on me some during final weld. I think im going to eventually cut mine off to change the angle and move them out just a hair.

Guthrie, mine were also tacked on the truck, and are also a little closer than I think they should be. I will move them out before I finish everything on the bumper.

You have great taste! How do you like your rack? How is the wind noise?

I like it! Very little if any wind noise. Great rack for a great price. Our trucks really do look alike!

definitely like the rack..

oh, yeah, and everything yer doing D90.. The rack is something that I can BUY... I don't so much weld as I stick metal together with electricity.. so much of the other stuff is a dream...

Wow, you dont mess around! I saw that Saturday and you must have worked nonstop. Looks great!

Got to work on the bumper a little more. Installed the latches, top plate, rear trim (against the truck under the tail gate), worked on finishing the corners out (still have some more to go), and added more support to the tire carrier (it is solid!).

Still have some finish welding and cleaning work to do on the bumper itself, but I am getting close to having it ready for paint.
