A new business in the states but not new to fiberglass

Terra Tough USA is a fiberglass company which originally started in New Zealand and was just recently bought to the US by the owner Stevie Jayne Whitton a good fellow to speak with and has been doing fiberglass business since the 90’s

They make about 70 different Land Cruiser parts and tubs including the 40 series and make parts for 50,60 and 70 series as well as other makes and models

Here’s a 43 body tub and 43 hardtop panels as well:

I know not too many are into the fiberglass but it’s nice a new business is in town and like to see them successful

Us guys in the upper north east … Canada and the rust belt may like the option for a fiberglass tub the has a more factory look … aka ribbing on panels

Yes not 100% the same but it’s a more factory look

Anyway thought I’d share since it seems they are having difficulty in getting their name out there

I’m not 100% sure… I do know… the vehicle laws in NZ are quite strict with the engineering of parts and they had been in business for a long time

If they are on par or remotely close to Gozzard they are still well above the Malotte tubs

I see the NZ website has a roof panel for a 45. I need one.
I emailed Terra Tough to see they have any in the US.
Shipping a single item from NZ would be costly.

Got a quick response from Steve at Terra Tough.
They do have the moulds and make items to order.
FJ45 roof is USD$575 plus shipping.

In NZ, 4WD Fiberglass has the same roof listed for NZ$500 (USD$306). Almost half the price. Hmmm.

I did notice that prices went up … but… the NZ site had not been updated since I first noticed them 5-6 years ago … same prices and info

I would assume the cost of moving all of the tub and parts molds and moving an entire buisness was costly … not to mention inflation (let’s not get political lol)

Afaik the 4wdFibreglass is now shut down as a business … the molds have almost all been bought here

When time comes I will be purchasing a tub and hopefully this will be my first choice still.

This looks to be the case. I emailed the 4wdFiberglass contact address and got a prompt reply from Steve.
I enquired about shipping cost to Canada. He replied $750.

Maybe a group buy would lower the price.
Anyone need a new roof for an LPB?

Was this 750 total or just shipping?

Edit:
I looked on DHL and it shows that much $$$ eeek

Other option maybe is MUDship if somebody is heading from Arizona to near you

I have seen their adds on facebook. It looks like they are setup in the middle of nowhere AZ. Some very interesting design and production choices deviating from OEM look. Risky venture. I hope they find success, fiberglass business is not one does for fun, its a nasty process and environment.

Some of the photos from their facebook listings showing "non-stock" features.....I won't lie, I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I saw the "angry" Landcruiser Bezel. I wish I could un-see it...

I drive through AZ on my way to and from Baja each year, so if I bite the bullet I would pick it up in person.
I may try welding in a few patches this summer.

Not keen on those non-stock designs, but give the guy credit for bringing something new to the table and I'm sure there are LC owners that will dig that stuff.
