Terminated wire question, beneath drivers seat

Hoping that someone with a later model 40 can shed some light on what this wire is. It originates At the center console then goes through the floor directly under the drivers seat (where a PO cut it off). Thanks

potentially the thermo sensor for your catalytic converter. If you've desmogged or replaced the cat without the sensor hole then it becomes useless and gets cut.
but you said "center console".... it would not route there. Exactly what year is your 40?

1982. That would make sense, as this is in that area and the truck has been desmogged

This is correct. It’s the thermo sensor for the Cat. Mine is still attached so I can confirm this. The wire enters the main harness under the console.
 
Thanks for the feedback. Thermo sensor is exactly what it was. Easy removal once you pull the seat, and had a plug to seal the hole.
