Turns out Eastwood makes a high temp engine paint in clear.

Eastwood's Diamond clear is some really good stuff , not sure about temperature limit but I've used it on a lot of parts including brake drum/alloy wheel mating surfaces to stop corrosion with great results . Stuff is amazing on restoring older plastic steering wheels too . You'll need to find some Brasso or other type of copper polish before coating though...

Thanks Sarge!
Theoretically the radiator will reach 212 degrees and not too much higher. So the 500 degree temp limit on the clear coat should be adequate.

I'm doing a preliminary fitting with all the A/C and radiator
components. Of course the brackets were here, the other stuff from the radiator section were there; my initial parts logs were not that good, (they were baggies with things written on them ). So to keep better parts accountability lists. Here's my process: The Ziploc bag process now has every bag listed with it's contents on it. I later logged all these items from the baggies on a list which stated where the baggie was stored ( what plastic bin #). I have several plastic bins for my Troopy project. 1 thru 7.

Going in for paint in about 30 days. After that we will be on final approach for firing up the 2H and fine tuning all the details. Truth is , that sounds way too simple. Something will come up and things won't be that simple. I know better! Stay tuned.

I ran my turbo 2h with no muffler and it wasn't loud at all. That turbo chops the sound up into little bite-sized sound waves.

The exhaust is not that bad the suction of the Turbo when you have the windows down on the freeway can be an issue with 2H ...

For those following this post, my new paint shop is scheduled to take the rolling chassis and
Tub on the 6th of January. When they've got that in color and the floor in black bed liner material, I'll get it back and give them the doors and windscreen frame. The roof goes to a shop down in Hobe Sound Fl. that seems to know how to fix rust in those metal/fiberglass roofs. The progress has slowed because I don't want to wire the dash until after its painted. But firing up the 2H comes after the body is in paint, and that's next.
Stay tuned.

Yes, Can't wait to see it in color and more importantly, see that 2H fire up again! It's been a while since she smoked up the garage.

Finally some progress on the final exterior paint work. My new paint guys (Chromefish Customs, PSL, Fl.) have got the tub exterior done and it looks great. They ended up taking the body back off the frame, which wasn't an easy task considering their shop isn't really equipped for that. More pics once I get the rolling chassis back home. They're going to send the Chassis back while they tackle the doors, sides, windshield frame and hood. I'm assembling all that stuff here. The floor is going to be black
spray-on bed liner material.

We got the bedliner material down and it looks great. Next they are changing the dash to a flat black. We're trying to make the few gauges pop a little. Originality is over-rated, at least in this case. But, that's just my opinion.

Nice to see her coming together so well!

Got half the truck back today and the dash looks pretty good in Flat black, I think. I'll start running the wiring to the dash and engine compartment now.
