Looking for tall skinny tires. I know this has been discussed in the past but I was hoping maybe there are new tires on the market that I don't know about.

I'm looking for 33"+. 33x10.50 BFG AT and MT I know about... as well as the 33x9.50 ATs (my current best choice)... What else? I do not want 33x12.50 or 35x12.50 - too wide. I don't want Swampers (the 34x9.50) too expensive and too nasty for a DD. No 33x9.50 MTs as they are not available new. Metric tires are ok. These need to be for 15" rims cause I want to use OEM steel wheels with the hub cap clips. (Unless you can find me five OEM 16" wheels with the clips!)

Thoughts and pictures welcome.
Oh... and please, no suggestions for unobtainable-in-the-USA Sumo or other non-USA rubber...

Thanks
Mark

There's a guy in the tires for sale section looking to trade a set of 33" x 9.50" BFG MT's - says low miles...

Thanks, but as I said:

I know you are looking for 15", but the michelin military tires are the ultimate tall skinnines in 16:

34x9.5 TSL special service? They fit well on stock rims and caps.

Thanks, but, again, as I said:

They DO look cool though...

Buckshot mudders are a stout tall tire for the NY area.
Lotsa guys from the NE run them

There doesn't seem to be a tall narrow 15" size available...

I run Dean mud terrain sxt 33 x 9.50r 15 .From Les Schwabb Tire, All the Western states have them. I bought a slightly used set for my fj 55 'log skidder', and a brand new set mounted on stock grey wheels. The latter are leaned up against my motorcycle in the living room so I can see them better, at least till my new rig arrives. They are quite agressive, look 'old school' and are good on the road. I have a set of black powder coated 15 x 7 that came with the ones on my 55. I don't need them. Will sell real cheap, but shipping?

First: "leaned up against my motorcycle in the living room"? Nice!

Second: Pics?

Third: I've shipped tires not boxed via UPS for not too much... I'll look for an online or local source first though.

Thanks!

Just getting rid of the wheels, the black ones. Not the tires. I have clear photos of the tires if you want to see what they look like, but can only email them. perhaps if anyone wants to, they could post them ? And the '72 r75/5 isnt for sale. Along with the truck tires and the giant antelope head it keeps the chicks from getting too serious.

Try Les Schwab site. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and were in stock. Also there is a pic of a set on my old post from yesterday called 'parting the pig' which has been 'moved'.... to where? ... not sure, but I think you can still see them on that thread

somehow I completely missed that in your post..sorry about that.

I have not checked on the Buckshot Mudders recently, but when I bought my 34x9.5 TSLs several years ago; it was coin flip between the Swampers and the Buckshots. The Swampers won because I had a coupon with a tire shop that carried Swampers but not Buckshot. The Buckshots were actually slightly taller than the Swampers as I recall, plus they were reported to be more durable than Swampers with better highway manners at the cost of more tire noise.

Good luck

A couple months ago, I finally found a Buckshot dealer who listed the 33 x 9.5 x 15. I went so far as to place the order and gave my card # etc... 3 days later I get an email that the size was discontinued. Then the used deans showed up local on craigslist and I bought them cheap and the seller told me he got them at schwab. Thats how I learned about them.

Avon makes a 33x9.5 as does Big O Tire(AT but more MT lookin)

You should just buy my Q78 swampers and stock wheels. Once warmed up they ride pretty well. You can find a sweet spot for them on the highway.
