here's a detail I maybe should have included:

I have dumped around $12K into this thing in the last year, enough is enough, this 80 and my 60 are going to go on the market as soon as I have them fixed. The 60 feels like the trans has crapped the bed, and my 80 has been a stress generator/money hole for the last year.

If I sell both fine, I may purchase an HDJ81 in the future. If not then I will drive whatever works. But I need to walk away from the cruiser repairs for a while.

So when the 80 gets "NV4500'd" it will get a for sale on it, and there isnt enough rocks around here to want super low gearing, besides, I dont think the axles would like a 4:1 low and a cummins.

Oh yeah and I lost my Job yesterday, so that doesnt help with the money situation at the moment either.

Hopefully that displays my motivation and direction for the project, and I hope that doesnt come off as negative. ;)

Cody.

205's can be found pretty commonly, along with a d300. common means some people will practically give them away. if you are keeping your offset rear then it would be easier to go with something offset to begin with.

so sorry about your job Cody ..

No its a good thing, my supervisor was like working for a overdramatic jealous 17 year old school girl, just adds to the list of stresses at the moment though.
We are selling our house to move into another and busy with with many other things, like two undriveable cruisers.

I think I may go with the AA adapter to the toyota split case, it is probally going to be cheaper in the long run, but I wont be buying parts till I have work again.

Thanks Tapage!

definetly go with the split case. i just did a bunch of work on a 4bt powered 80 and it now has a rebuilt split case in it. the 4bt has gobs of torque and with the nv your gearing will already be low enough.

besides, why change a bunch of other crap ( fuel tank mods, centered rear axle ,..... ) just so you can save a few $s by running a centered rear output t-case. makes no sense to me at all. it'll cost you more money in the long run.
