I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me what they have done to add aftermarket switches for their accessories. I was thinking something along the lines of this...

Thanks I like what you did robo. Has anyone mounted switches in the same place as the 4runner in the picture?

The 100's kick panel is great for smashing knee caps, I have a feeling you would turn everything on with you knee everytime you get in. There is a metal plate behind that location, you'd have to use a dremel to make room for the switches. It can be done.

Ya that's probably true. Any other places to put something like that? I don't currently own a 100 but am thinking of trading in the fj cruiser (which has a nice big easy switch panel) for one and I want to have everything planned out

Ya I was gonna buy something just like what you guys posted. But Im more concerned with placement right now. Is there anywhere to put any of these?

The six switch will fit between the transfer case shifter in the cupholder if you relocate the seat heater buttons, or use two of the six switches for the seat heaters. It will also fit below the mirror and rear vent buttons by your left knee. I'm not a big fan of this position because you can't really see the switches. I don't think you'd accidentally turn them on with your knee, but you might want to check when you're in your normal driving position.

The four switch blank could fit in the garage door holder area above the mirror or possibly below the ashtray and in front of the center console.

None of these locations are ideal and will all require some fab work or creative install.

Would be nice if someone built a panel that would fit above the transmission shifter and left of the tcase shifter. Could easily put four switches or six if you covered the storage cubby.

I built a custom 6 slot switch panel overhead in the sunglasses holder. It rotates forward on the same hinge plane as the original, exposing all wiring for hook up when adding switches.

How bout a part number Jordan345. Thanks in advance.

It is a laser cut piece I measured out and made couple years ago- there is no part number. Any metal fab shop should be able to make one for 50 bucks or so.

Jordan345 - Can you provide more details on how you actually mounted it? I have an 06' and am having rear lockers installed, plus need 2 switches for lights and am thinking of putting them all together in the same location.

Thanks

Bump: I'd like to move a few switches to the sunglass holder compartment too. Anyone with a 3D printer (or?) that can put this together for us?

This guy made a panel for a friend and it turned out really nice. I was planning to do the same for the location you suggest. This was his sole business but earlier this year he had posted on his site that revenue wasn't sufficient and he was moving to part time work. Link now shows "down for maintenance". Perhaps it will come back up...
