For Sale SW Missouri - Wanted FJ40

I have been searching for a good priced FJ40 (for what it is) and not having a lot of luck. It seems as if everyone values theirs a little bit more than I do. So I figured I would try posting a want ad to publish my interest. Open to any year after 74, any mods, just as long as the price is right. Looking mainly for something to drive in the summer and hit trails occasionally. Don't mind it needing some work, but would like it to run and not be a rust bucket. Looking to spend 10k. Are you saying that there are no good and cheap FJ40's? I usually tie those two things together, I think we all do to a certain extent. I would assume that is how we assign what is a "good" price to anything. I am not asking for an off the frame resto for 10k or anything, but I think a good example would be the truck in the thread "Trade IN/MI 1975 Mustard Yellow FJ40". Runs, has some rust but not a rust bucket, $8500 asking. If it wasn't going to cost a ton for shipping I would be interested, but I think this would be a "Good/Cheap" truck. That is just my opinion though, I guess to a lot of people it isn't worth $8,500 because it is still not sold.

Both words are subject to debate. For me, a "good" FJ40 is one you get in and drive without issue. It's mechanically sorted with minimal rust and looks good. That's just my definition.

It's only 570 miles from South Bend to Springfield. Shipping can't be that much. Rent a U-Haul trailer and do a 2 day trip. I certainly wouldn't let that stop me from pursuing that 40 if that was the one I wanted.

You could even rent Dolly from U-Haul and flat tow it home
