I thought about leaving after work on Friday, but would probably sit in traffic for ten hours so I decided for early Sat.

I've left late Friday for the last 2 years and traffic isn't so bad after 7. Just bringing the 5 year old, Brian, wife and daughter are going to have a "girls weekend" What about you all...who is bringing kids?

I'll likely have a ten and a 13 y.o. (girls) on Sat and Sun

Alright girls...time to take your make-up tips and date-planning gibberish off-line...

FYI, FRIDAY MEET UP TO SnT

Those interested in convoying up to Pismo.

A few of us are meeting up FRIDAY Morning, 9:30am off the 405 at the Sepulveda Blvd Right before the 101 interchange, which anyone from So Cal will be taking toward SnT.

This is an open invite and we will not be sticking around for more than 15/20minutes. I'm trying to find a solid location with parking (and coffee), but for now I will say just across the street from the Sherman Oaks Galleria, North on Sepulveda (if you know of a proper location let me know).

So far a couple 40's and 80's will be meeting there, would love to have a huge convoy....We will be on CB Channel 4.

Sam

Jim,

I'm just about done with Monica's 6' sign. I was going to do one with the distance to Caracas, but Roberto got ahead of me.

Regards

Alvaro

This photo was taken two years ago at SnT with my two girls during the rain and they still played with sands for hours so I didn't go to Pozo Station. :crybaby: ;)

Be sure the truck is parked on top of dune so ATV and other trucks can see us ahead of time.

Cheers,

Las Chiches Pre-Run

A few of the locals made a pre-run of the Las Chiches trail yesterday. The trailhead is 8 miles or twenty minutes from Pozo. It's only 3 miles long and the return (its a loop) is 7 miles. It took us two hours round trip from the saloon. We stopped for the usually BS'ing, pictures, etc.

The trail suitable for any 4WD. It follows a ridge top with OUTSTANDING views in all directions. The trial is primarily used by motorcycles and some places are narrow with brush. The biggest obstacles are steep sections with loose rocks (It's steeper than it looks in pictures) and water bars. There are a few rutted sections where you may drag your diff on a stock rig. It looks like a great trail for Surf n Turf.

We stopped at Pozo Saloon for a gallon of Fat Tire ale. We tlaked with Rhonda the owner about next weekend. She still feels bad about the food/service delays last year. THis year she is bringing in lots of Tri Tip and Chicken and will provide us are very own BBQ in the back. It will be delicious, reasonable and quick.

The weather was perfect.

Here's a few pics of the Las Chiches trail:
