Really looking forward to this. Im also trying to figure out how I can get a massive wood pile in the yard down there for the fire pit out there:cool:

Can we get the countdown clock again and a poll on whos going to be able to maybe make it, make it forsure and all the crap......

Thanks Joe:grinpimp:

ok so this is my first time going up there. let me get this right, we dont have to register with TLCA? just the people who run the campgrounds? i checked out that link to reserve a camp site but didnt get too far.

You don't have to register with TLCA, but it doing so would get you a years worth of a great magazine and support our organization at the same time. Plus, you will probably see pics of the event on the coming months on the magazine (who knows, you might be in it).

Also, you may want to call the park ranger and make a reservation to camp on the beach, not usually necessary that time of year. It's not crowded like in the summer time

On that note let me say that Pismo has reduced the number of reservation they allow for overnight stay. They do this in order to reduce injury and keep things on the non-glamis page (if you know what I mean). An advanced registration is recommended IMHO, just to be on the safe side, b/c trust me you don't want to have to get up at 6am and beat the rangers to the ticket ($270).

hey sam can you get me a resvo when you call? I will hit you back

i am a tlca member, i just didnt know if there was a form to fill out and give to them. but i will register this week with the park service ( i guess thats who runs the camp ground)

as long as you have a reservation to camp then you just pick a spot and set up camp. there is so registration for the event but you should sign it with pismojim when you get there. the signin gives a rough estimate of how many cruisers were there.

No registration, no fees, just show up...

...with a good attitude. Be cool, obey the park rules, do what's right, be safe, pack out your trash, bring the kids, bring the spouse, bring the dog (on a leash) have a great time with lots of Land Cruiser friends. It's a blast!

Day use is no problem. The overnight camp permits (limited 1,000 first come first serve) don't usually sell out on this weekend - but Surf N Turf IS getting bigger and bigger each year. ;)

Search ReserveAmerica for "Oceano Dunes" to make a resvervations for your peace of mind.

If you're not in TLCA, I'll have applications ready for you - you will join - hundreds of cruiserheads = lots of peer pressure. :grinpimp:

Shirts, stickers and dash plaques should be available for PRE-ORDERS  after Labor Day - more later....

al the infomation you need is found right HERE on Jim's SnT website

Use the phone when making an overnight camping permit reservation for the Oceana Dunes SVRA it is faster when you talk with a person - as it says on Jim's site - we'll be camping out near pole 6

you'll never see this many landcruisers in one place on a beach

damn i hate to ask this question. but my roomate wants to go, but he does not have a landcruiser, it is an exploder very well built. is this alowed? at least its not a J#%p

pack out your trash

This one is huge.

The trash problem has been getting really bad at the dunes, so bring a few trash bags to pick up the trash that is alreay there. I was in awe last week, I could have filled my 60 10 times over.

All those asshats (no offense to the cruiser community) from the valley are doing is giving the Coastal Commission a reason to shut the dunes down....so how about us cruiser heads take it away.

Oh yeah, where is a Surf N' Turf Counter?

Anyone know if the online reservation will work. It says something to the effect of "Site: nonspecific" and "you will be assigned a spot when you arrive". So that has me somewhat confused.

I don't want to be stuck away from the Surf-N-Turf camp, 'cause that would just suck.

Also anyone know what the deal if I arrive later in the evening on Friday. Can I still get onto the beach or do I have to wait until morning? Visibility should be descent as there will be a near full moon both nights.

There are no "sites". It is wide open space, camp whereever you like. The locals will "stake out" a large area near Pole 6.

Arriving late is no problem either. Even if the entrance kiosk is closed the gate is open. Just come on in, camp, and in the morning go back and get your camping ticket.

Another great birthday party coming! Thanks Jim.
