Awesome compared to Montana!
People surf near the pier further north up the beach. We always surfed at Shell Beach a few miles north up the freeway. If you go 15 miles north to Morro Bay, and you catch the right tide, you can surf in the cooling outflow of the power plant and the water is warmer than anywhere else. It's a long paddle though.
If you get homesick you can visit Montana de Oro state park.
Too bad after you get out of the stream to get some waves the water is super cool. But doable.
One year we surfed close to the first inlet area to the beach at pismo before leaving. Not aswam, but good for some rides, and a shower.

Ok, I'll play - glad as hell it's the second weekend this year. This will be the first time in 5 years of attendance I'm able to come up on Friday due to work restraints. Can't wait to take part in the Friday evening festivities!

Everyone- I'm interested in thoughts about the Saturday morning fun run/walk on the beach. Keep it or loose it? Like everything at Surf N Turf it's optional, free and informal, so maybe it doesn't matter what you think...
By the way, I thought last year's Poker Run was the best yet. Thanks to lots of great help!

The beach run (walk for me) was fun. The more activities the better, especially for the rest of the family.
Poker run was great too, thanks to all the volunteers. (One thought, though, maybe make it a bit longer and especially have the stations hidden from view a bit more and perhaps without a map so there is some more searching involved?)

well i sold the 4runner and am going to look at a clean 70 4o this week i will be leaving livermore thur. after noon and headed down 101 if peoople want to cruise, and i will lend a hand fri. if need be, and do some fishiin! wooohooo cant wait.
